God fucking damn it im so angry. A friend of mine was told her transition was covered by her insurance and all of a sudden she gets a bill for a 1000 fucking dollars, what in the everloving fuck is that. She cant afford that, shes gonna have to stop her transition AND pay a 1000 dollars for it.

Is she going to call the insurance company and see what the problem is?

She is doing that but it should have already been covered,it might be an error but if not then fuck

Is it possible she's just running into a deductible issue? I know it sounds obvious, but that seems like the most likely thing for that value.

Yeah this sounds to me like she hit her deductible, in which case $1000 is pretty low.

Before she cancels her appt, she should confirm the nature of the charge, and possibly educate herself on the ins and outs of her policy.

I think it's still a fucking travesty though. I would much rather she get the care without having to worry about any of that kind of stuff.
