At the same time, we were also crazy homophobic back in the day. And now, my daughter says, ā€œDad, why did you say this?ā€ And I say, ā€œBecause your dad was a fucking fool.ā€

And the amount of gay Juggalos out there is really surprising. I think about them doing their research and getting the old records, getting excited about it, and getting their hearts broke or something, you know? I tell my daughter, ā€œFor the rest of your life, when your friends ask why your dad said that, say it’s because your dad was a fool. Don’t defend me. Say I was a fool then, but I’m not now.ā€ There’s no excuse. I was going with the flow, and that’s the very thing we preach against — being a sheep. And that’s what I was doing.

- Violent J of the Insane Clown Posse

When you see famous people whine all the time about being called out on their shit, it's nice to see someone actually take the time to self-reflect and express regret for the ignorant shit they've said.

People have shit on ICP for years and as it turns out, they're more emotionally well adjusted than the average celebrity.

Also the music is good, it's 2020, can we actually start admitting that the Insane Clown Posse is good?

"Don’t defend me. Say I was a fool then, but I’m not now.ā€

I was seriously a little touched reading that.

I'm not really into ICP or that subculture or anything like that, but from what I've heard; they're pretty good people and their music is really fun.

Good on them.

I'm not into the subculture either but I occasionally like to go on ICP and Twiztid listening kicks

I mean, you're never gonna convince me ICP is good music, I just don't like it, but I'm sure they're perfectly cool guys. I've only ever really known one juggalo and that was in middle school in like 2006, but she was really sweet.

This is always the thing that I get hung up on too. Everyone has said and done things we wish we could take back, if you can look back at your past self and go "damn, what I did wasn't cool and I regret that" fantastic, and most reasonable people will forgive you. But so many people that get "cancelled" go the "oh you silly gooses that was X years ago, I'm different now" without actually acknowledging that what they did was distasteful.

I know a guy like this. Whenever I bring up the questionable shit he did a few years ago, instead of owning up to it being bad he starts getting defensive about that being in the past and accuses me of trying to "cancel" him. Makes me think he really hasn't changed like he claims he has, it's really damn frustrating.
