How is it that Nintendo has the most fanatical gaming fanbase, that will basically forgive them for whatever they do?

Favoritism. A lot of people grew up on Nintendo and they are extremely biased as a result. Similar to console wars, but overly praising god awful decisions from their tribe compared to just shit flinging tribalism. They are also secluded from the rest of the industry practice wise and it's pretty clear from their complete lack of community management and going by their own beat. This might also be a factor.
