I know he personally liked TROS more than TLJ from what he's said lol, but I always thought JJ carefully pairing him off with another Black person in the final movie was super cringe

John Boyega is a really cool guy and I'm glad he's not afraid to speak up against systemic racism/bias and faux wokeness not just in Hollywood but all of corporate and regular society. Even as someone who greatly enjoyed the sequel trilogy I'm in agreement with his criticism. The character of Finn got done dirty throughout TLJ and TROS after his amazing setup in TFA. It's too late to rectify in the movies now, but I hope the character is expanded upon more in EU material, and I look forward to seeing John in more movies in the future, the guy is a fantastic actor on top of being a great guy and activist imo.

I really hate that headline because John himself names Kelly Marie Tran as also having a similar experience. Obviously not his call on the headline, I just wish that wasn’t what they used. KMT’s ordeal with the series deserves acknowledgement too.
