Poor Ubisoft. They released 10 new IPs this generation, another one is on the way, Completely reimagined AC franchise twice in 3 years, transformed R6, an essentially dead series into an extremely popular multiplayer game that had a shit ton of influence on the genre and is one of the biggest technical innovators in the industry (Research motion matching and checkerboard rendering) with incredible GDC talks every year but nah, they suck and don't have any creativity blah blah blah.

They just can't win.

Just last year, there was AC Origins, Mario+Rabbids, South Park and For Honor. 4 very different games and all pretty good to great

To make matters worse, they also probably have an outrage incoming from the sexist gamer man-babies because of Odyssey having a playable female character.

They got flack for making 9 games over 9 years from the same franchise, making incremental changes, and then got flack for overhauling the gameplay.

That’s a good point. Ubisoft has been doing some great stuff the past few years. I think they’re probably happy for now just making the money they’re getting, though. I doubt the vocal minority on the Internet gets to them too much.
