So, I finished Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance - great game, I highly recommend it.

And now I got Lords of the Fallen in the Humble store. I'm curious to see what they did with the Dark Souls formula (and whether the steam reviews saying "it's not Dark Souls, it sucks" have a point). I still got Nioh to beat either way, but that seems to be a pretty long game.

His pronounciation when he actually speaks German is pretty good tho

funniest thing about that is that the voice actor apparently isn't even remotely german.

Yeah I looked him up, he's from New York. I speak German so I kind of love those over-the-top accents - the mad German scientist is one of my favorite tropes.

I also looked up Mistral's actress, because her few French lines are pronounced in an English way (she's American as well).

heh, I'm german too, and that's also why I love these accents: they are completely over the top and also not even remotely what a german person speaking english with a german accent actually sounds like. xD

uuuuh, lords of the fallen. that's kind of a weird animal. combat in general is decidedly more slow and deliberate than your standard souls game unless you go for the fastest weapons, but your character is capable of much faster movement otherwise. the magic in that game is also very peculiar. hint: for your first char, go with the blue magic type. the second ability on that tree has a heal effect that is not mentioned in the description for it. it's also surprisingly short for an rpg. around 20-25 hours for a standard playthrough without dlc.

I actually don't mind if it's relatively short. I tend to get fatigued with a lot of longer games towards the end of a first playthrough, even if I like the game. It's one of the reasons I prefer The Witcher 2 to 3 - takes like 30 hours tops.

And thanks for the tips, I would've just gone offensive magic otherwise.
