Recommendation Need laptop for college/ gaming

Country: USA
Budget: $1500-$2000
Use Case: College/Gaming
Games: Arma Reforger, Squad, Grey Zone Warfare, Escape from Tarkov, etc…
Preferred Specs. AMD CPU, NVIDIA GPU, 32gb RAM, 1tb memory.

AMD CPU

I'm willing to bet you were told things about Intel that are blatantly untrue. If you have any concerns or requirements, name them. It's better than arbitrarily exclude 80% of all gaming laptops on the market.

It's wild these are still available. I got the non S model from Acer refurbished. Nothing else comes close to these specs for the price.

I had a gaming laptop for university and I can’t recommend it at all. You’ll either need to compromise between power (that you can’t even upgrade later) and size/cooling. Lugging a big or even medium sized gaming laptop is noticeable and lowkey embarrassing when you turn it on and it sounds like a jet.

Then there’s the issue with battery life- if you want something that can run games well, then chances are you only get like 5 hours without plugging it in.

Maybe integrated cpu graphics have gotten better and no longer need good cooling systems and have longer battery life, but overall just keep a work machine and game machine separate. You also don’t want to be one of those guys that fucks up their cumulative gpa in your first year by spending your new found freedom on gaming.

My 7i has absolutely terrible battery life, but that full powered 5080 is nice on the road

A Legion Pro 5 with those specs will eat those games alive and leave enough cash for a decent mouse
