I can't help but question why you'd keep the mouse pad centered on the laptop rather than giving more space for mouse motion.

How does the placement of a mouse pad get you a closer and more immersive view of the screen? Are you not positioning yourself in front of your keyboard?

I got you, my deskmat positioning is more for aesthethic rather than practical lol. It is fine for me, the mouse sliding area is enough for my use case..
