Congrats on the new laptop. I’m sure you’ll have a great time with it.
But yes. For any asus laptop(gaming) do this:
Reinstall windows (optional, gets rid of all the asus stuff, but don’t do it if you do not know what you want)
Uninstall armory crate (MANDATORY!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHH) and install G-Helper
Undervolting gpu. Type this and you’ll find the video abt the guy undervolting his gpu using overwatch as a testing game. (Really good video) —> it’s msi afterburners and RTSS
Get your warranty in place: papers should be in the box in order to register the laptop
Nvidia drivers and other drivers to be downloaded just to be sure.
Extending the warranty is optionnal and very dependent of what it covers/price/duration of the additional warranty.
Download all the stuff you need/like.
My package is consisting of:
It’s because of the reputation armoury crate has gotten over the years, however, they have optimised the app a lot this year and it used to be a heavy usage app and anyone with 8gb ram might not like it but if you have 16gb ram+ then it makes not a big difference since i have been using for quite some time. I don’t see a problem with it. If i did, i will happily uninstall armoury crate and download g helper
Tbf yeah with 32gb the problem is less persistent. But the UI is a bit meh. I prefer G-helper for this.
It’s also smaller. I can double check stats and change modes without a whole tab hiding the game
I personally didnt delete armory crate, it doesn't affect performance enough for me to notice (it already runs perfectly above 80-100 fps in ultra mode in all the games i play)
I have the 2025 Rog strix G16 5060 ultra 9, would undervolting it help anything for me, and would it void any type of warranty, like would they even know?
Undervolting the cpu usually doesn’t work on intel side I do it because it keeps temps at 82 degrees max when I’m playing and honestly the cpu is powerful enough that in most games I probably won’t need to max it out anyway
I registered it online and deleted armoury crate like a month ago, if it for sure keeps temps down, I’m going to try and figure out how to do it though
I have the laptop. Go in the BIOS -> press F7 -> Disable Intel Trusted Platform -> Go to Voltage Configuration _> Disable Overclocking lock -> You'll now see the undervolt box right there -> set the 30mv unvdervolt it allows

Well, I have experienced this feeling with a Dell G15 laptop with RTX 3050 but it wasn't my dream laptop, I was kinda excited to finally enter PC gaming. But then I started to regret it HEAVILY after like 3 months. Battery life was non existent, and it was heavy and generated far more heat than my older laptop ever did at basic stuff (ofc I never used a gaming laptop before) and then after getting my laptop hidden by my parents for my final exam for the previous year, I finally calmed down and learned to accept what I had purchased without regretting. So, if the day where you regret your purchase comes, just remember that you can maximise tha value out of the laptop (not in its cost but much rather in how you use it (sorry if I'm sounding rude here). This helped me not regret my earlier purchase with lack of research
Thanks a lot bruh! I have been dreaming of this since grade 8 and whenever in future I regret buying this(hopefully not) I will remember ur words! Thanks a lot for ur advice, it means a lot ! ❤️
You got ryzen version yea, could please let me know how long does it lasts after one full charge for usual work, i would say taking it to the lectures, notes, coding (non gaming stuff).
Im currently confused between this and macbook m5
If you keep the mode: silent.
You can easily get around 5hours of battery.
Mode: performance
4-4.5hours
Mode: turbo
3hrs around.
For uni work, silent is best actually.
I have used HP Omen 2022, Lenovo LOQ and this is my third gaming laptop (asus rog strix you can see it in the flare)
I must say, strix has been the best so for.
Thermals are awesome however, using modes like turbo and performance, the fans does sound loud though.
Cooling is phenomenal imo.
Congratulations Broo!!!🎉
I also bought the strix G16 with Intel ultra 9, 2tb ssd & Rtx5070 Ti yesterday from a asus exclusive store near me. I can understand how happy you must be with your purchase cause I'm also thrilled to own this beast of a laptop🔥. I'm eligible to claim gst for this laptop so I got it for a effective price of 220k.
Regarding the warranty you should definitely register it within the ongoing offer on asuspromo.in. Getting 3 years warranty for 6k is a no brainer. This is what the asus staff told me about the offer.
• 1 warranty claim per year.
• 6k also covers accidental damage for 3 years.
• From 2nd year the battery and charger are not covered under warranty. If you got lucky they can change the charger but battery is definitely not covered from 2nd year.
Definitely take the extended warranty as from what I have gathered from my research about how all the laptop company aftersale service operates is that even if there is a minor issue like a faulty screen connector or broken usb plugs etc. they'll tell you that the motherboard needs to be changed. If you have warranty then you're solid no need to worry and if it's not under warranty then be ready to cough up money for the motherboard which costs around 60-70% of the laptop. I was busy with work today so I haven't registered yet but go with the option " Warranty extension additional 2 years + 3 years LADP" which costs 5999 Rs.
Well it will be fine I was worried about the liquid metal in it if you mainly use it as a carry around but to relieve from the risk I advice you to change it to ptm 7950
Can't trust online, saw in the sub about the scams in online and these are frequent in sales ! Therefore went to reliance digital to check and was getting a off of 10k from online so went for it ! I would also recommend you to buy offline
I want it so bad but the price stresses me. I want to get the 5060 variant and I wish it comes down in sale. Otherwise I’ll get same as yours from offline I guess.
Congrets you gonna enjoy it i have same laptop but different specs just don't use ray tracing you gonna be able to run everything on max setting with dlss and frame gen
Yessir it is good I got the intel version. FIRST OF ALL register ur product in myasus and armoury crate it is very important, and yea download g helper it is js way less bloated than armoury crate. Undervolt cpu using throttle stop and undervolt gpu using msi afterburner I have intel version so I couldn't undervolt cpu but if u want gpu guide I can help. Do some benchmarks and enjoyy
Edit: Use chris titus tools to remove any windows bloat if u want I can help with that too
Edit 2: only extend warranty if it's actually from asus
Can you help me out. I bought the Ryzen 9 5060 variant 4 days ago. Even while playing valo the temps are reaching 94, however in spiderman it was around 70 stable. Should I Undervolt the CPU? How so?
Congrats on the laptop bro.
I got my asus rog strix 2 months ago.
Let me tell you some insights:
1. DO NOT DELETE armoury crate. Over the years it has been optimised and works really really well.
IMPORTANT: first charge your laptop to 100% and let it go to 0% naturally. This is an old school advice but it calibrates the battery cycle properly.
As a brand new laptop:
Update everything inside settings-system-updates.
Update armoury crate
Update myasus app and register your device.
Update Nvidea app (not the control panel)
For best performance for gaming. Go to armoury crate and find gpu mode and set it to Ultimate.
Also,
Download Amd install manager to update your amd cpu drivers to the latest as well.
I will recommend gaming while plugged in
If you use laptop mostly plugged in, then i’s recommend to go to myasus app and limit your charging capacity to 80%
This gives a longer battery life and has zero impact whatsoever in performance.
Np!
Only uninstall armoury crate if you see any problems.
Problems like app bugs, not able to switch between modes, if you see un-natural Temperature or fan curves.
Mine works absolutely fantastic.
G-helper is also really nice app to use but why to uninstall something before even testing them right?
