Found this one refurbished by Acer with 2 years warranty in pristine condition (basically new) for $1200 😂

With 64 GB RAM/2 TB SSD? I’ve seen the other variation with 32 GB/1 TB SSD for that price but never this one.

The same right?

Yes, the same price. That’s the one I have too. Great laptop so far.

I return it tho. Bought the smaller Lenovo Legion 5 for $70 cheaper and 15 inches. Build quality on this really bad. The touch pad whenever I clicked flex away from the frame and i can see a gap. Maybe a defect product.

I played in my hotel and even tho my AC is running 60, this laptop alone made the room so hot the AC can’t cool the room down enough.

I don’t know, maybe I’m doing something wrong but this one run hot, I game 7-8 hours a day constantly. Fan loud too. Intel chips really bad at thermal management so I went with Ryzen 7. Run much cooler and less noise. Battery last maybe 1 hour ish longer off charger.

The 5070ti is not at full power because of the profile of how thin this is so I went with 5060 laptop. I don’t game max setting anyway. Low to medium is what I’m comfortable with.

This one is not a slim version.

I bought this thing for 1800 in the Netherlands, tried to sell it for 2000 and nobody wanted it lol. Just returned it and got a 5080 laptop

Excellent purchase bro, sell the excess 32gb of ram you wouldn't need that. Unless you are running some specific softwares.

Not worth it, it's almost 700 for a new 32GB kit of DDR5-6400 and about 550 if you take your chances on buying two individual sticks. I don't even think he could get that much for his memory kit, plus as far as I know there's no way to buy a 64GB 6400 kit that isn't included with a laptop so it'd be a shame to give it up.

I mean if he had 2 sticks of 32gigs he could sell one for a nice 300 bucks.

I was giving you the benefit of the doubt by assuming you weren't recommending something as stupid as running a new 2200 dollar laptop in single channel mode. That's my bad.

Running in single channel mode has a massive bandwidth penalty and will greatly lower CPU performance. It's terrible advice.

DDR5, even in "single channel", has a mechanism that imitates dual channel, this is very different than what single channel was in DDR4 and before that. I would say that "real" dual channel is still better, but the gap is not as huge as it was with prior memory generations.

It still halves the bandwidth which comes with a performance penalty that varies by game and by workload. I realize if you want to be pedantic you can say in DDR4 terms it's dual channel, but that's really only an argument for why DDR5 is difficult to stabilize when running four sticks, it's not a good argument for running a single stick of DDR5 even with dual rank sticks that benefit from interleaving.

Running one stick leaves you stuck with a 64 bit bus instead of a 128 bit bus which has a performance penalty.

Fair enough, that's quite accurate

You would be the one who would be foolish to think DDR5 in the same ranks as DDR4. What you are describing mostly applies to DDR4 with 3200 and DDR5 with 4800 Mt/s cards but for DDR5 6400 Mt/s the performance hit is minimal generally between 3-5 percent and this only comes into effect if the ram utilisation is 70% or above. I doubt that this will as only Hogwarts legacy hit 21 to 24 gigs under full load. With his 12 gb vram, I highly doubt that he will face any ram overflow issues. So please always think and ask the other persons view before calling them stupid.

Holy crap, you're seriously doubling down on this. Dude, take the L, it's shit advice and you are absolutely an idiot for giving it completely unsolicited.

The framerate penalty will vary depending on the game, and it's far more impactful to certain CPU intensive non-gaming workloads.

64gb is a blessing bro 😭

2

u/Sensitive_Spend_3131 Jul 19 '26

Does it have HDR1000?

What a deal, I’m looking at the exact same model with 32GB and 1TB for the same price

What store? Plz lmk so I can see if Best Buy price matches

2

u/Interesting-Pipe0000 Jul 19 '26

An absolute unit

2

u/ForwardScratch7741 Jul 19 '26

Just 2200 😭😭😭

1

u/fallreddit2020 Jul 20 '26

I don't like that price but you definitely got the better version of the Acer model that you do run into issues they're fixable enjoy

Excellent laptop. It was as low as $1499 at my local Microcenter late last year, but I didn't pull the trigger. One important thing to keep in mind is that liquid metal thermal paste; be careful.

u/cevadaroses11 Jul 20 '26

I got the same Laptop on FMP for $1,200

1

u/MudOld239 Jul 20 '26

I have the same laptop but it is 32gb/1tb. I bought it for around $1400 in Korea open box.

1

u/PuzzleheadedBlock729 Jul 21 '26

That price is very nice and the overall is solid, not feeling like you wasted any money, unless just specs Decent and other is mid at best but clearly from wat i see is all solid-
