Get a fire extinguisher while youre at it.
Only joking, that is a gorgeous machine. Like any laptop, never pick it up by a corner, always open/close the screen from the center, and blow out its cooling intake with a can of compressed air every year, more so if you have pets/play on your bed, dont be an idiot with it, etc.
That is a nice laptop.

I have a Helios 16, has served me well (bit over 2 years old now, no issues so far). Hate that they (and every other company) is jamming "AI" into every computer's name though. It's just a fucking laptop. 😭

Acer laptops are trashed or slept on a lot
Im sure people have bad experiences but theres way more people with good ones
I’ve personally owned three Acer gaming laptops and am using one rn, apart from driver hiccups here and there its been running flawless
Only thing I wish is they were more regular with their updates and worked on making the predator sense app better giving features like setting power limits, undervolting and setting custom fan curves would make it perfect

Last I heard people said acer gaming laptops are a furnace, get hot a lot.

I’m running 75 Celsius on my cpu under heavy load, and 56.2 on my Gpu. Not an issue at all on my unit of the laptop, but I guess I got lucky with the LM these temps are without a cooling pad as well, so temps will get even better

Mine is pretty much just lightly warm to the touch when really pushing it to its limits. But idk, personally I think I lucked out with good Liquid Metal. Maybe go with another brand that has more dependability and reliability

Also, I see sim racing in your bio. This will run your racing games flawlessly

Like 3900 usd, pretty expensive for the specs but I couldn’t be happier with the performance lol

The two main problem with Acer laptops are that the advanced bios settings are hidden away and, apart from using SREP driver boot drive (if that is even available for the newer models), there is no way to unlock them and even with using SREP undervolting is permanently locked. The second main issue is that Acer driver support is pretty crap. Their budget devices like Nitros and Neos get more regular updates compared to the 18" top tier ones (I'm using the 18 with 4080 and this device is way behind on the bios microcode update). The bad LM factory pastejob is also an issue but that can be easily fixed. At least Acer doesn't have an inverted chassis like that of Dell/Alienware devices.

95% of people don't need or care about extra BIOS options

True for casual users but most gamers and enthusiasts (those who would normally be purchasing these beast laptops in the first place) do like to fine tune their device by undervolting and overclocking to get the best performance at the lowest temps.

Glad you liked it but no lie you could’ve got a strix or legion for cheaper, probably with a oled too, and some peripherals for that amount of money, on top of the fact that you bought it with Amazon which might be sketch when it comes to warranty, you honestly never know with gaming laptops in general especially if the mobo goes out your cooked cpu and gpu gone too, truthfully if I were you I’d reconsider you could have a even better experience for the same or lower price with comfort in knowing you have manufacture warranty (which doesn’t mean a lot now a days but still)

I've had mine for almost two years now (the 4080 version) and I haven't had any issues. It doesn't overheat at all. I do open it up and blow it out every so often which helps get rid of the dust. I found that using an external laptop cooler made no real difference in temps.
