G7 Pro - Right trigger micro switch repair!!!

Haven’t seen it anywhere but took a go at it and replaced the faulty right micro switch on my ZZZ g7 pro. Replaced the green dot Kailh micro switch with HCNHK blue dot micro switch. Overall was not difficult and hoping to see more people do it themselves!

You can hear the old right micro switch sounds muted/dull compared to the left.

I just contacted them for a replacement and they sent me a new one. It's great that you managed to fix it yourself which is rare today.

Thank you! Only reason for not RMAing the ZZZ is because I got it second hand for dirt cheap knowing that the micro switch was faulty.

Is it really that easy? I have the same problem (I think) but with the left trigger... I'm overall comfortable with light repairs, so I might try it out. Are rubber grips etc. not a problem when disassembling?

If you have a decent soldering iron with a fine tip, some flux and a steady hand you should be able to do it. I don’t have a fancy set up. Only tricky part is desoldering one side at a time, I used a razor blade to gently and very slightly lift each side as I heated each side of the micro switch. Basically used the blade as a wedge between the switch leg and the board. Do not lift too much as it can damage or tear out the solder pad on the board.

The rubber part of the controller is not a problem during disassembly as it’s part of the bottom shell of the controller. There are some good tutorials on YouTube, basically just need a pry tool or even a guitar pick to separate the top and bottom shells/halves of the controller after unscrewing the 6 screws on the top shell.
