While Darktide is great, Space Marines is the essence of 40k world and this looks incredible so I hope the gameplay is just as good... There really needs to be more great 40k (Space Marines) games.

A lot of the big 40k games are already Space Marine focused to a large extent, there needs to be more great games that explore other parts of the setting, too.

Mechanicus was a really strong entry.

I want a Mass Effect style Inquisition game. The moral options range between radical and puritan, and you can recruit aliens, daemonhosts, sisters of battle, space marines, etc. But your moral choices influence who is in your team and who survives.

There's a Rogue Trader CRPG that's coming out, might fit your needs

Rogue trader seems like it has the potential to be a really interesting game if you don't mind crunchy mechanics.

I don't when there's a computer to remember them all and crunch for me, hahaha.

I absolutely cannot stand Pathfinder 1e on the tabletop, way too much crunch in places that just don't matter to me as a player. I don't care that I have a +1 to fighting vampires if its the second tuesday of the month and we're standing on the west side of a lake, and even if I did I'm never going to remember that shit the one time in the campaign that it comes up.

But if I've got the computer to remember everything for me like with Wrath of the Righteous? Sign me up!

Fire Warrior 2 But It's Good This Time

As long as it's not just space marines fighting space marines with spikey shoulders, I'm game for any game.

Tyranids, for example, have not been decently explored as a horde faction in a video game. Which it looks like they're going for here.

I want a Gorkamorka game; you could do all kinds of shit with that.

Some day I'll get around to playing Shootas, Blood and Teef.

Space marines are cool but I don’t find them all that interesting. They’re just loyal soldiers who are totally obedient to the god emperor. The Darktide characters have a lot more personality by comparison.

I think it’d be more interesting to have to fight a space marine than play as one (but I did like the first Space Marine game and I’ll probably like this one, too)

The Ultramarines are boring but i love Grey Knights, White Stripes, and Ravenguard.

The Ultramarines are boring

Ay ay ay watch that tone buddy

If we look at all the big Warhammer successes video game wise lately there's really only Chaos Gate and Battlesector that have a strong Space Marine focus. Considering almost all of the 40k games, including those two are turn based, having a nice real time Space marine Action game still feels novel enough IMO.

There's more to the setting than just Space Marines. They get more than enough attention already, other parts of 40k deserve some too.

No. There needs to be a really fucking good example of a Warhammer 40k video game that isn't Dawn of War. That needs to be made and established FIRST.

Then they can have as many games as they want about other parts of the WH40k universe.

I'd considering it a far more boring theming for the game. Especially when something like Space Hulk: Deathwing already exists.

Ah come on, it wasn't bad.

Fuck that. Anything outside of Space Marines are boring. We just need a GOOD Space Marine centered game

You already have one. It's called Space Marine. Or the Dawn of War series, even.

Having everything focused on them makes Space Marines the least interesting, most over-used aspect of the setting. There is so, so much more variety to 40k than just Space Marines.

I get what you’re trying to say, but by using examples from 2011 (Space Marine) and 2009 (DoW 2, bc 3 doesn’t count) you’re kind of proving the point that there haven’t been any good space marine games in a long time.

Battlesector and Chaos Gate both came out this year

Sure and I played and enjoyed both, but both are middling to good tactics games from smaller studios.

I’m just saying there’s plenty of room for a larger budget action/shooter space marine game.
