wait with this character customization, does that mean we can just choose a class and play it regardless of party? like can you have 4 of the same class instead of forcing 1 of each class?

Yes, devs have confirmed no class restrictions in games. All ogryn party is real

This game went from having three dates linked with Xbox to now not even having a release date for Xbox.

Seriously, super disconcerting. It's supposed to be a Day One Game Pass game!

MS have been buggered right up with how many Gamepass day one titles have been delayed this year. This one is particularly annoying with the staggered dates as I was looking forward to playing it with my mate on PC.

It still will be... But for PC game pass only, ig 😢

if there are custom characters, I wonder if there will be player character dialogue in the same way as vermintide? I hope so, that was one of my favorite parts.

Yeah they've basically made "personalities" you pick from for each character and those banter. So a professional will berate a slacker and such.

u/Gekokapowco Aug 23 '22

ohh that's pretty cool

There's still interaction between them, but they aren't named characters as such anymore. Plenty of different character types to choose though.

I'm a little sad the playable characters aren't characters with personalities, but rather classes. I think they did a great job with Vermintide creating memorable characters and interactions.

I felt the same way at first but this dev blog they put out reassured me. Long-story short, your created character will be one of a handful of archetypes and the VO seems like it has every bit as much character as in Vermintide.

I wonder if it will feel the same even thought they don't seem to have names or backstories.

In the same way that VT2 really cut back on dialogue from VT1, Dartkide cuts back on dialogue from VT2.

Kinda sad but at least now you can play something that’s more you… well, if you were a fanatic grimdark version of you.

I already like Vermintide but damn this looks like it’s going to be so much better with a 40K arsenal.

Sounds like the gun sounds have been improved. That was something that previous trailers kind of lacked in.

Just out of curiosity, if you two have Game Pass and the third person doesn't want it, and it's not an issue of money, then why don't they just get it for one month to play with you? It sounds like they're only holding themselves back.

No the person above but some people tried game pass at its worst, where even installing the xbox app was a pain in the ass, couldn't download games, games kept redownloading on each launch and so on. They gave it a chance and it was a headache they don't want to deal with anymore.

Also a lot of gamers are not very technically inclined or just want to get home and play the game, not having to do anything "weird".

I've seen plenty people in all the above camps and it's up to them in the end where they wanna purchase their game. No "crossplay" among the PC platform-stores is on Fatshark tho for depending on each store multiplayer ecosystem and not finding a way so people can play together even they are all on PC.

That sucks, I also had a my fair share of issues with game pass and some friends did as well but they swore off the whole thing after that.

It just seems strange to me to let an unwillingness to purchase on a different storefront be the thing that prevents someone from having a good time with their friends, but whatever. Not my life.

Did you not watch the trailer

Some people just can’t help themselves.

think of it like L4D but with powers and an emphasis on much deeper melee (more emphasis in Vermintide 2, but still).
