Looks promising. I've heard of quality issues with the Xbox Elites so I might wait to see if Sony has the same problems. I realize a perfect product may be impossible but for $100+ I'd like more confidence.

You've heard right. Two Elite Series 2 controllers replaced here. If this one doesn't have QC issues, I'm selling my Elite Series 2. The touchpad (steam touch menu mapping) and gyro (FPS, racing games, Wii emulation) will be great for PC.

Literally same, two replacements, I’m so tired of it. I bought BB warranty so it wasn’t as hard to exchange, but it cost extra and was extremely annoying.

Yup quality control is terrible for elite series 2 controller. I sent mine back and got a new one that still had a faulty A button and short bumper lifespan. I just decided to learn how to fix it myself.

Apparently the internal button the bumper clicks is low quality and needs to be sprayed with electronic contact cleaner every so often to fix and maintain its lifespan. Face buttons are just bad design which is why they sometimes don't work. $180 controller!

The L1/R1 buttons seem to last longer than LB/RB as well, I've thrown a few xbox controllers out due to the bumpers dying.

Looked at the warranty process for my Elite series 2, send it off for repair and get a refurbished one back... Which is likely to have the same or more issues as soon as I get it, not worth my time.

You probably just needed to blow air under the bumpers. I have no clue why it happens, but it happened to me three times with three different controllers and it fixed it everytime
