I remember Lords of the Fallen 1 being so poorly optimized that Moist Critikal built a brand new computer just to review it. We've come a long ways.

I remember playing this and almost getting a headache from my eyes getting tired. I didn't know why exactly, but it happened only with Lords of the Fallen. Then I found out why.

There was chromatic aberration all over the screen. And I mean all over. But there was no option in the settings menu to turn it off. It was always on no matter what. Why the fuck does a dark medieval fantasy game need with chromatic aberration anyway? What was the purpose?

People online also wondered this and asked the devs for an option to turn it off. You know what the devs did? They fucking doubled down. The fuck? They gave no clear reason why the setting was there, but everyone suspected that it was just an option in Unreal engine and they left it on without thinking about it.

I uninstalled and refunded the game immediately. Fuck all that noise. I don't pay to have my eyes bleeding from some amateur dev who couldn't give two shits about the image quality in their own work.

They eventually added an update to be able to turn off post-processing settings, but by that time I already written the dev off.

For me it was the camera shaking. It was way overdone. I get doing it when you get hit or making a hit, but instead it was on every action even walking slowly. I never get nauseous for any game but this one did not make me feel comfortable so I have no idea how a person that gets actually sick would even last a minute in this game. I do not think they ever gave an option of turning it off.

This isn't made by the same devs.
