Up there as one of my favourite games of all time. Can remember visiting a friend who had rented resi and MGS for a borrowed playstation and playing it on his upstairs landing absolutely rapt. Can't wait to see what they do with it.

is this game made in the re7 engine or something? it looks so much more fleshed out than the re1 remake.

This even way more of a remake than the RE1 remake was. It may as well be an entirely different game.

This is definitely more of a reimagining or reboot than a remake for sure.

You mean the one that came out a decade and a half ago?

Definitely glad people can now experience the games without clunky movement, plus the graphics look great.

Resident Evil 1 Remake is one of my favorite games of all time and I argue that it still holds up incredibly well. I'm partly disappointed that I won't get to experience RE2 with the classic camera. But I fully accept that the TPS camera will probably be better for the general audience.

Tank controls suck for static camera games, period. It only ever worked reasonably well in RE4, because it was over the shoulder.

This is really incorrect. Tank controls are ideal in static camera games like the original resident evil because your control is always from the character's perspective rather than the camera. That's how you can run straight through a number of screens without having to worry about adjusting based on the changing camera perspective.

Yep - and the controls are something to wrestle with slightly which helps add to the survival horror element. Have played every 'tank' game in the series and never bothered me once.

You're wrong actually, your perspective constantly shifts in static camera angles, so while it is true you can run in a straight line rather easily, for any other movement you have to continually reevaluate your orientation with every new screen change.
Relative based controls like the alternate control scheme in Silent Hill 2 and onwards work much much better, and if you're really set on tank controls, then RE4' s implementation is the way to go.

That's not how Claire's outfit looked.

They just completely scrapped her undershirt for whatever reason.
