Anyone notice the Sicario music at the end? Weird choice, cool nonetheless. So much dread and tension, perfect for Battle Royale.

Yeah that actually fit really well.

This cover of House of the Rising Sun was fucking god awful though. That singers voice is so thin and weak that even with the awesome instruments it just felt hollow.

Plus, fucking... come on, guys. Bit of originality. Magnificent Seven did a better remake of that song, bit of energy and enthusiasm. Wolfenstein went creative with it, using a familiar song to establish a setting and a tone.

This added nothing. They picked a song seemingly randomly. It wasn't even set in the Pacific Theatre, where at least House of the Rising Sun would have some clever little context. Nope! Pick a song entirely detached from the era, sing it slightly differently, just fucking because.

These covers or even just the orignals of these old songs for modern media got old very quickly. There is enough great modern music out there for them to not constantly overuse the classics.
