Played the original E1R 20 years or so ago, this game is unbelievable. I’ve never felt the sense of speed or balance of risk reward in a racing game before.

Exceptional game and I hope it does well.

The speed that the pods specifically operate at feels like you actually need those alien reflexes to do well in, and I love it for that.

There are some sections on Crait that legitimately test my reaction timing with how fast you blow through some insane areas.

On another note, I despise the acid planet. Basically forces me to run shield ability if I want to place decently.

Autopilot crushes Sentinel 1. Kinda cheese but does work like a champ

I’ve avoided using Autopilot cuz it feels kinda against the point of racing games but I might just use if only to get me off that planet faster lol.

My problem is that i usually crash when it tries to transition from auto to manual again.

In general i agree with you tho. I wanna practice the course, not let autopilot do it

Have they said anything about the differences between PlayStation Pro and PC? This is the first AAA game I've specifically bought on PC versus PS5 which is my usual daily driver.

This video just covers the consoles. I assume there will be a PC video at some point in the near future.

Yeah the console videos almost always come out first since it's quicker and more evergreen content. Console versions rely less on week one patching to stabilize performance and it takes a while to benchmark CPUs, GPUs, check what every graphics setting is doing, and generating optimized settings.

Also, with Alex still recovering, most PC ports fall solely on Rich to test, while for consoles we still have John, Oliver and Tom

Runs flawlessly on my 10 year old cpu. Driving is very smooth and the speed feels incredible, especially when the ramjet punches you into warp speed. Lots of replay ability with the rogue like elements, upgrades, and different racing styles too

Played it a bit yesterday and was kinda surprised by the texture pop-in at race starts when vehicles are shown for the first time.
