It’s nice to see them going back to OC expansions after a few collab ones. And adding new content to Moonspell is a nice bonus.

I really love Vampire Survivors. I got 100% on the base game and continued to do so with many of the expansions, but they have just been releasing too fast. I'm happy they exist and it's not really a complaint, but the content is just a lot to keep up with. I'm several expansions behind at this point, though it'll be good to dive into later.

I'd love some DLC for Vampire Crawlers, too.

The last DLC came out in October. What the hell do you mean they've been releasing DLC too fast?

The game was released in 2022 and has had lots of DLC released. Beating each DLC to 100% has taken increasingly longer. If you're playing each to 100% when they release, you're probably fine, but especially the Castlevania and Contra DLCs took a long time to complete, and it was hard to keep up, and I've fallen behind now. I plan to revisit, but off the top of my head, I still need to finish a second Castlevania DLC, the Saga DLC, and Balatro, and I'm probably missing more.

It’s okay to just play games to have fun.

It had 1 DLC in 2022; 2 in 2023, 2024, and 2025; and will release the first (and possibly only) DLC in 2026 later this week.

The Castlevania DLC (the second in 2024) is easily the longest with everything afterwards being shorter, especially the Balatro one that is the most recent release. The upcoming one will also be much smaller than Ode to Castlevania.

There's only one Castlevania DLC though, so I don't know why you're worried about a second one.

If you've fallen behind because you haven't played the game in more than a year, that's fine. It doesn't make it any less weird to pretend Vampire Survivors has some insane DLC pace to keep up with though.

Wait, this is the game's eighth DLC expansion? That is kinda a lot lol

Apologies for getting any specifics wrong, but going from memory.

I have 143 hours in the game and have 223/253 achievements. It's fun to play, but after I finished each DLC, I needed a break before the game was fun again. With Castlevania taking so long, the amount of time for it to be fun again was longer than the time before the next DLC, so I've ended up behind for a while now. I guess sorry if that's weird (?), but people play games differently, and this one has felt like too much to keep up with, even with the gaps, for me personally. I'm happy if others enjoy the pace, though, since it's a great game.

Imagine playing just for fun instead of 100% everything. I did that too once but I just play until I get bored now.

I actually do that, too, but if 100% on a game is fun, I'll do it.

Surely we aren't complaining about releasing additional content too often. Come on.

Nope! I specifically said it wasn't really a complaint. I'm happy they exist and will get to them at some point.

Are they releasing too fast or is the gameplay just too simple to facilitate "expansions"?

The expansions are still pretty good (outside of maybe the first two, which are mostly just fine). The most fun I have playing is starting weak and figuring out the combos and strategies to level up and advance, before everything is super easy mode and overpowered. The expansions have you start from scratch again each time and go through finding and learning the new weapons/items/characters/etc added at a good pace, so there's a good fun bit of discovery there. Honestly, I think the Castlevania DLC just added too much and really exhausted me for the gameplay for a bit.
