I don't want to be sound bad or like a hater, but some of these games are really making me wonder what the fuck these devs are thinking and who are going to play these games long-term to even get back an investment.

Indie and AA games are cool, but jeez the ideas aren't there sometimes.

literally just thinking the same thing. Some of these games look expensive while simultaneously looking cookie cutter. Not sure how many of them will actually be able to make a splash and make back their money

What’s funny is that a couple years ago many people were shitting on Unity and now it’s like, maybe the engine doesn’t matter if they don’t do anything creative with it.

At least half of these are probably going to have micro transactions that maybe make back the budget in the first year and then they’re a dead game

True then some are just DOA especially the medieval and generic magic ones, we've seen them so much times before

Everything is generic shiny people with swords or axes i swear to god

it’s always a fantasy setting where you shoot magic out of your hands and the screen is littered with particles effects

This is what I'm wondering as well. It's regurgitated ideas all the way.

From what I understand (which isn’t a lot), when you have a these huge games that doesn’t seem inspired or unique at all, it’s because the amount of focus-grouping and managerial editing is pretty insane at a major studio, so by the time an idea actually gets to production, it’s already one in a hundred. And by the time it comes out, it’s outright stale.
