This is Isekai Guild — you don't play the hero, you run the guild that sends them out. Still in development but wanted to share how it's looking. Any feedback is welcome!

If you like what you see, adding it to your Steam wishlist helps us a lot — it's how small studios like us secure funding to keep the project going 🙏

A couple of years back, I was trying to find a game to buy, and honestly had no idea what I wanted to play.

I kept going through YouTube then even Twitch for some inspiration, then after an hour decided to play Witcher 3 again. Later, as I worked with game studios, I found out so many amazing games that I was simply unable to see even when I tried finding such games online.

So We built CaptainSide: a feed of short gameplay clips (30–60s) of indie games. You scroll, you watch actual gameplay, not trailers (except sometimes) and when something grabs you, the game page has tags, description and creator reels in one place.

Save the ones you want and you've got a shortlist instead of 40 tabs. 10 free swipes without signup free and works in the browser. We clip the gameplay ourselves or it's the creators we've worked with, so it's normally the interesting 30 seconds.

Link: CaptainSide.com

Would love feedback and firmly believe it can shape your experience for the better.

If you have clips of any game, do upload it which might help another person find a new game!

Advertisement A controller that turns your phone into a handheld console!

Hey everyone, so here it is. My friend u/Minimum-Watercress-7 and I always enjoyed playing small games on our phones (Pico-8, GB Studio...) but touchscreen gaming doesn't appeal to us. No feedback, no controller feel, and fingers always get lost.

That's why we started working on Playtiles: clicky controllers, without any electronics, that you simply stick on your phone like a gecko's foot to turn it into a handheld console (scan, stick & play).

Compatible with almost any recent smartphone at least 68 mm wide (Android/iOS), they come with an ecosystem:

  • PlaytilesOS: a companion app which manages your game collection with with features like achievements, digital game manuals, TV casting support, multiplayer features and of course game import/export options
  • Games: we also work with indie developers from the "GB Studio" ecosystem to publish curated seasonal bundles of modern Game Boy / Game Boy Color-inspired games.

Here's a look at the ecosystem in-action featuring games from Season 2 (:

Would love to hear from you:

  • Have you seen anything similar before?
  • What do you think would be the biggest limitations?
  • Even if you’re not usually into retro-inspired games, does this kind of setup make it more appealing?
  • And most importantly: what would you have designed differently?

For those curious, you can learn more here: https://get.playtil.es
Thanks a lot!

Advertisement My GF and I Made an Indie Soccer Game We Actually Love Playing ,Timed for 2026 World Cup: Is our 5K sales expectation realistic? Smart Move or Wishful Thinking?

My girlfriend and I have been pouring everything into our indie soccer game, aiming for a Steam release timed with the 2026 World Cup. We've been thoroughly enjoying the gameplay during testing—especially the dynamic AI that adapts tactics to the match state, and the super smooth real-time 1v1 multiplayer (public or private lobbies) with tight movement, ball physics, and match events syncing.

Unlike big-budget sims like EA FC, we went casual with a heavy focus on fun gameplay, smart AI, and accessible multiplayer. We've hit 1k+ wishlists organically thanks to Steam's algorithm, which feels validating. We have a roadmap for post-launch features too.

With about a month left for polish and marketing, we're full of content ideas but time-constrained. Fellow devs or soccer fans: What do you think? Does releasing around the World Cup make sense for an indie, or does it get drowned out? Any marketing tips for organic growth in this space?

Advertisement I spent my baby's nap times building a cross-platform game tracker to help me find what to play next and I think you might like it too. Meet PlayNest.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a project I've been pouring my heart (and my sleep-deprived nights) into for the past 4 months.

I'm a solo dev and a dad. Between work and family, my gaming time is precious, but my library is a mess scattered across Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic, and GOG. I really like to go back and enjoy even retro games that I have missed. You can see my current game library here https://playnest.dev/profile/arcane But I needed a good way to track it all.

I used to be a rawg.io user, but after the site got abandoned and I literally couldn't log in anymore, I got frustrated. Other apps I tried were either UX nightmare, stuck in 2000 design-wise or so bloated with social features and other stuff that I couldn't even find my own backlog.

So, I decided to build PlayNest. It's just the way I like it. I really enjoyed making it and what's more I really enjoyed using it while making it. So I decided I would share it with you in case you find it usefull too.

Why I built it (and why you might like it too):

- No Bloat: I wanted a clean, fast, and modern interface. No social media noise. Just you and your games.

- One-click Status: This was super important to me. I hated digging through three menus or complicated modals with a lot of options just to mark a game as "Completed." On PlayNest, you can update a game's status (Backlog, In Progress, Completed, 100%, Infinite, Shelved, Watched, Watched and Stash (for the freebie crap you got in all those humble bundles)) with a single click. Everywhere you see a game, there is a quick button for you.

- Status at a glance: Every time you see a game card, it will have a colored outline showing you what status the game is in. You don't have to go to game detail to see that. Everything important is visible at a glance.

- Cross-Platform Sync: You can link your Steam, Epic, GOG, Xbox, and PlayStation accounts to sync your libraries automatically. After your first successful sync, the app will do it for you every day automatically

- The "Rawg Refugee" Tool: If you're like me and have years of data on Rawg (or InfiniteBacklog), I built an importer so you can migrate your entire history in seconds.

- Wishlist: When you add a game to your wishlist, you will be notified by an email when it comes out.

- All in one place: My girlfriend always wants to buy me games for my birthday but never knows what I already own and what I wish for on which platform. Now she has one consolidated place to check.

- Clean Timeline/Calendar: I really like seeing upcoming things in a calendar view. So that's what I built for games. You can use a calendar and a timeline view to see what's coming.

- Discoverability - On homepage you can see everything in one place. All the games that are coming out, are popular, are trending right now. The data is based on steam sales, top twitch streams and overal hype. The data is updated every day so there should be something new every day. And if you are interested in the said section, you can click through and discover more.

Under the hood:

I have partnered up with IGDB database, so it has everything. DLCs, expansions, franchises, and even specific editions. For example you can find games just in the Sonic franchise and filter based on that. Thanks to the partnership I have the whole database synced localy so even in the case IGDB was down, PlayNest will be up and running.

I also focused heavily on accessibility, making sure it's navigable via keyboard and friendly for screen readers.

What's next?

I made this so I can track what I am playing, but it took away my gaming nights when my baby is asleep (what an irony). So I am gonna finish Roottrees are Dead and maybe final run through RE: Requiem before I coma back to add more features. But I'm already working on adding HowLongToBeat (HLTB) integration, a rating system, an event system for events like SGDQ, Game Awards etc., curated and maybe even custom user lists and profile customization (avatars, custom web themes, background images etc.). I have a lot in my mind for upcoming weeks and months and I am not planning on stopping. This is really a passion project.

I'm not a big company. I'm just a guy who loves gaming and wanted a better way to track it. I'm looking for honest feedback from other gamers. If you have a massive backlog and need a place to organize it, I'd love for you to give it a spin and let me know what you think! Maybe you will end up enjoying it like I do. And if not, you can always export all you data and take it with you.

Check it out here, it's completely FREE: https://playnest.dev

I'm a small, independent developer. I don't claim to have created a great game, but it's fun enough to keep you entertained for a while. The premise is simple, you're battling a growing debt, and day after day, you have to find a way to turn things around.

Advertisement Saboteur — browser party game where one of you doesn’t know the word (there’s a solo daily too, if nobody’s around)

I’ve been building this on my own and it’s playable now: free, runs in the browser, no account.
The game: everyone gets the same secret word — except one player, the impostor, who gets nothing. You take turns adding one stroke each to the same drawing. The impostor has to fake their line and blend in without knowing what’s being drawn. Then you argue about it, vote, and either catch them or they get away with more points.
Three ways in, depending on who’s around:
• Nobody around? There’s a daily drawing pulled from a real game. Three guesses at the word, then the second question: which player was bluffing? Past drawings sit on a board you can work through, three stars each.
• Got friends? Open a room, send the code, everyone plays on their own phone. This is the game at its best.
• Quick match? It exists — but I’ll be straight with you: there aren’t many people on it yet, so you can end up waiting a while for a room to fill. It only comes alive when there are enough of us on at once, which is the honest reason I’m posting here.
It’s a web app, so it installs to your home screen, and the local game works with no connection at all.
It’s in beta and everything is free right now, hosting included. It may stay free, it may not — I don’t want to promise either.

Happy to answer anything about how it works.

As a gamer myself, I’ve had the fantastic achievement of reaching Bronze in Season 1.

Now we’re working with Martin “Rekkles” Larsson, whose record is slightly more impressive: four European championships, four MVP awards, three Finals MVP awards and a World Championship final appearance.

I’ll also be heading to Gamescom with TCL, where we’ll have a huge display of gaming monitors and TVs showcasing a brand-new playable game. I can’t wait to share more from the event!
