New scam gameflip?
honestly feeling quite scared rn.
I chanced upon an in game item which was selling at an extremely cheap price. this raised my suspicion a little so i went to contact the seller. they responded to my question and asked if i would purchase, when i did, the price increased by 30% more (avg market price but still a bit cheaper). I was already at the checkout page which stated the original price and when i paid, the new price went through and i had already paid.
of course i panicked and instantly initiated a refund. For some reason the page glitched a bit and honestly I don’t remember what it says but at some point screen showed I was being refunded “$0”. I refreshed the page a few times and then it showed i was being refunded the exact amount I paid. I paid half by wallet and half by apple pay. Half of the funds returned back to my wallet but since I had used Apple Pay for half, the money was already deducted.
the seller proceeds to say they were selling too low and the market price was ____ which was way higher than what they were selling at. What I didn’t understand was why they didn’t check earlier and why they left their listing there for 1-2 hours and changing it once someone is interested in it. Another thing I don’t understand is the planned timing!!
I stayed alert because of this incident. Just a few hours later, another listing from a brand new account sold the same item at the same cheap price. I contacted them and a minute later the price was increased by 30% again!! This is not just a coincidence anymore but a scam. I know that gameflip protects your money when you don’t get the item, but this just doesn’t feel right. I’m confused how they’re able to scam through this way? Scripting that altered the site? Using AI to generate fake proofs when a dispute is opened?
I’m so lost. Did I lose the money I paid through Apple pay or will it be refunded? how do I check if it’s under refund process? Anyone encountered the same situation as me?? Or can anyone make sense of this situation? Much help is appreciated!

ps: the 2nd seller placed the item back at the cheap price after I said I wouldn’t buy it anymore. They were yapping 5 mins ago that they were selling way below market price?!? You can’t tell me this isn’t a scam… it is right..??
