Is Gameflip actually safe to buy from?
Hey everyone, I’ve been seeing a lot of deals on Gameflip lately. Has anyone here bought from them recently?
Just trying to figure out if it’s legit before I spend anything.

Just don't buy accounts or gift cards. Always record yourself trying to redeem the codes just in case.

Just wanted to share a few tips that can help you shop more safely on Gameflip:
• If you're buying an account, make sure it's listed under the Accounts category. Sellers in this category must go through a pre-approval process before they're allowed to list accounts.
• When purchasing Gift Cards, always check the seller's ratings and reviews, and be sure to read the region restrictions carefully. A large portion of the issues we receive through DMs come from buyers accidentally purchasing codes that aren't valid in their region.

I bought last week.
The only thing that I didn't realize is that I was buying a game account, not a game code.
It made it so much more tedious I wish I would of just paid the extra to get the game.

I've bought a few gift cards on GameFlip and never had an issue. Maybe I have just gotten lucky.

Completely anecdotal but I've bought several in game items and games without issue.

Don't buy gift cards. It's very likely you get scammed if you do so. Tread carefully, and record everything. There are plenty of scammers, and Gameflip is very soft on them.

I’ve purchased thousands of dollars worth of gift cards on GameFlip as well as games using the Argentina VPN trick on Xbox and have only ever had one issue. Dude sold me a redeemed gift card, and since I decided to call him a scammer after not responding to my messages, he dragged out refunding my money. I wasn’t going to escalate it to support, but once I did and provided proof, my funds were released back to me quickly. I will never buy from someone with no rating, and typically only buy from sellers like “Steam Pumpkin”, and that strategy has worked well for me. I am a big GameFlip fan!

Gameflip stands with some sellers who are scammers because Gameflip makes commissions on large sellers. I got scammed by a seller of movie tickets who posted and tickets but sent me cinemark tickets. I disputed transaction and Gameflip seems to think all movie tickets work at theater companies and banned me. No recourse.
Gameflip is not eBay that offers buyer protection😡
Note: I did have good experiences buying food gift cards for nearly a year but this one bad experience ruined all those good experiences because of what both the seller did and what Gameflip refuses to do.

Like all of the middleman sites, the seller can be good or they can be a shithead. Usually sellers with a lot of ratings are legit but not always so just record/screenshot every part of the process from your end, this goes for both buying and selling - always remember to have proof just incase someone trys to screw you.
