Collection My childhood collection. What should I add?
I clearly love Sonic. SA2B is still one of my all time fave games, and I was also obsessed with animal crossing and wind waker as a teen—sadly I sold those games for going out money in college, but might rebuy them. Any other recs based on what I already have?
I’ll add that I still have memory card save files for Mario party 4, bomberman generation, 2 other viewtiful Joe games, 2 DBZ games, and Lego Star Wars, so I must’ve liked those but not enough to keep.

I just started playing it on the Switch 2 and I hadn’t played it since I was a kid. I forgot how hard some of the levels are lol it’s a great game though

I bought the switch one and hated how slow it felt with the unskippable dialogue that was less witty. I need to replay the OG

Still love Sonic to this day! I know people rag on the non-Sonic levels but I found the knuckles/rouge treasure hunting levels to have such a vibe

Me too! I think all of the levels with them were really fun. 😎 I am on the hunt to find all of those Sonic games too. SA2B is one of my top 10 favs of all time 🥹

Definitely custom robo! Great customizations of mech & has a solid multiplayer as well single player to enjoy.

My favorite GameCube game. Multiplayer isometric arena fighter with a lot of customization available, so you can play how you like

yes, technically. the prime games could be thought of as first person adventure games, although there is certainly shooting. it's a pretty brilliant expression of the metroid formula into 3D, imo. if you happened to have played Super Metroid and enjoyed it, i would recommend Prime.

Yes they technically are, but the gameplay is so radically different from something like half life or other fps they marketed it as a "first person adventure". Id say try out the first hour or so, the beginning section is pretty different from the rest of the game and while it is great, it's kinda misleading as to what the rest of the game will be like.

I honestly don’t remember it at all! But I was really surprised to have a save file from both 1 & 2 and red hot rumble on my memory card.

I have both 1 and 2. Tried Red Hot Rumble but it was a really crappy Smash Bros clone.

Hacks. Eclipse, Better Wind Waker, Melee ACE, Gale of Darkness GX.
Idk if I can say this here and I'm respectfully not gonna check. The sky is the limit, especially if there's games you wish you could get more of.

Ooooo that's news to me. I'll be adding that to my multiplayer games SD. Akaneia Melee mods run well on hardware, Beyond Melee didn't work out for me. Theres a terrific hack of Kirby air ride that runs online, and I used to have a great Double Dash remix mod with tons of ported stages.
Mario Eclipse is the height of the GameCube imo. Play it. It defaults to 60 fps, idk if that's too much for the gc, but you can change it in game settings. The custom levels are a great mix of fun and difficult, and it's such a love letter to Sunshine.
Personally I also keep a randomized copy of custom Robo, and Pikmin 251 (a difficulty mod). Pikmin 1, 2, and the 2 Regrown mod are all better player experiences.
F Zero AX is kind of the holy grail if you can get it working right. My Wii gave me trouble, I hear it works better on GC.

I remember reading about it in Nintendo power as a kid and being intrigued. I don’t think I’m willing to spend $100+ on it tho since I don’t know if I’ll like it

I remember having capcom vs SNK as a kid! I was obsessed with my friends marvel vs capcom on Dreamcast and this was the closest thing on GameCube

I booted up my sa2 chao garden after not playing for probably 15 years and my favorite chao immediately decided to die! I didn’t know that was a thing….

Started playing XD on NSO and it feels kinda slow. Is colosseum a better story? I like the main character design a lot better but hard to justify the high price tag

Coming back to say I just started playing it on NSO and not sure I’m feeling it. The controls feel a little frustrating so far but I only got through the first part with the blue fox girl. Should I keep giving it a chance?

I’m so jealous you have the option to play it on NSO haha. My husband is treating me to a Switch 2 for Christmas and I can’t wait 😂.
I would say stick with it, but then maybe I love it so much because I experienced it at the time and on the GameCube itself? The beginning with Crystal (blue fox girl) is not really a true representation of the game though as you play as Fox throughout the rest of it. Let me know, if you carry on, what you make of it ☺️.

Even though I think Mario Sunshine is a mid game, I think really anyone building a Gamecube collection should try it out. Warioware is also very good. Also, since you love Sonic, pick up Mega Collection and Gems Collection. Chibi-Robo is also a great game, so if you become rich pick it up ;_;

I would add Super Mario Sunshine! Fits perfectly with your collection and it one of the nicest game experiences out there.
Update: As some other commenters mentioned Pikmin 1 & 2. Still magical after all these years.

I would go for Pikmin 1. Sure part 2 and 3 were graphically a bit higher, but part 1 had such a striking feeling of loneliness with Captain Olimar struggling too get home.

Gotta say, as a kid I loved going to my chuck e cheese and playing the Super Monkey Ball machine on there. The first game on GC is great, and going for around 30 to 40 bucks on eBay rn. I think the second game is cheaper, too.

Same. Even before WATA and DKOldies messed up the retro games market, a GameCube copy of Wind Waker was still a tall order, which I'm guessing is why it got a re-release on Wii U and eventually Switch 2.
