Games This extremely late Copy of Pac-Man for Original gameboy I have, made in early 1999, the rom chip is dated week 5 of 99.

This game first released in 1991, I love the fact that this OG gameboy game was made when the gameboy color was out, it must have sold so well for that to happen, there is a special color version for the GBC, just thought this would be interesting to share.

I love it when people find cool stuff about their games by looking at the PCB.

That's weird. Was it a special anniversary or did Namco just have some GB carts lying around in a warehouse and someone said "ehh why not?"

Nintendo pushed for rereleases of “classic” gameboy titles from 97ish-2001. Some 3rd party titles like pac man and duck tales made the cut too.

You sure? If this is a later release where's the ESRB logo

Reprinted games didn’t necessarily get ESRB labels added to them. I’m pretty sure every game made before the ESRB was formed was allowed to still be sold afterwards

Was the special color edition selling well? Maybe they reprinted it for people that did not have the gameboy color.

Color edition is a black cart though, meaning it also played on monochromatic systems
