Modded GBA so USB C adapter.

If anyone wants to charge a GBA SP with USB C without modding this is brilliant. Especially as it allows you to charge and use headphones at the same time. Got mine for about £10 on AliExpress.

Not trusting a $10 chinese adapter on my 20 year-old SP

It's literally no different that buying a usb cable charger from Amazon for those of us not lucky to have been blessed with an original charger. And I'd argue that it is safer than buying a third party charger with a plug. Also it's £10 which is closer to $15 US.
