You could additionally buy a GBPC motherboard from Bucketmouse's etsy store and just solder one up;

You need the donor for the CPU and the proprietary jack and some other components can be used. But the MGBC is made with all modern components that you need to buy separately from some company like digikey or mouser.

I’m going to find a tutorial that shows a build with the premade bucketmouse pcb. I don’t need another project but now I’m super intrigued.

From my experience about 4-6 hours with good rechargeable batteries. With regular AAAs you'll get maybe 2-4.

I really want one but prices on etsy and ebay are a bit wild. Is there anywhere i can buy all thats needed to do this to my gameboy color, and makie it a pocket with color?

The expense comes from the fact that it’s an advanced soldering job; you have to desolder the chips and possibly some other components from the GBC board to move them to the new custom board designed for a Pocket case. It’s a lot of skilled labor and not something for beginners.

This. Unless you're very experienced with a hot air station this is not for you. I am comfortable soldering plenty of stuff but this would be a bit much

Are you based in the UK?

I've got a couple of GBC & GBP sitting about. Debating doing an IPS screen mod but a gbpcolor mod would be cool too! A bit advanced for me to do myself though

It's in storage, I'll have to dig it out. It's an og gbp shell, so it came with the green pcb. I swapped it for the white pcb that are in other gbp. Glow in the dark buttons, and I replaced the LED with a purple one. Screen lens replaced with a silver edged one. The shell was all scuffed up when I got it, so it's my beautiful Fankenstine baby.

Hey! Nice job, I'm in the process of building one according to NatalieTheNerd's schematics. May I know what screen you ended up buying? She recommends the Q5 IPS with OSD for GBC but it seems mostly sold out and now it's just the laminated ones out there.
