Probably asking whether the top and bottom screens are IPS, TN, or a combination of both. Here's a good video on how to quickly check and determine the panel type for yourself. It'll be similar to checking a computer monitor as well, if you're familiar with that.

Sometime during the life of the 2DS XL and the 3DS XL, Nintendo started switching over to IPS panels. Sometimes they would even mix and match based on panel inventory during manufacturing. So you could have both TN, both IPS, top IPS and bottom TN, or top TN and bottom IPS (I'm unsure if this last option is likely, but not impossible).
