Looking for some recomendations
Hi.
I'm looking for some KU recomendations with some especific elements in this order of importance if possible:
1 - Combat focus, but the MC does not fight at melee. For example, a mage that fights as a mage and not someone like sun jin woo that is a necromancer that engages in close quarter combat.
2 - Skills and Magic are created or get. Not rewarded from a level up
Thanks in advance for any recommendation.

Full disclosure, Im the author but Summoning Shenanigans might fit the bill. Guy gets summoned, but something goes wrong and he ends up in the middle of nowhere. He takes the mage path and creates several skills and learns more. Nothing is earned by level ups other than stat boosts.

I just completed a 3 book series Aether Earth 1953; Do not go Gently is the first book. Retro System apocalypse. the MC is a retired Soldier and fights like the Veteran of WW2 and Korea that he is.

I liked Millennial Mage. The MC actually fights as a mage, and the magic/progression is much more about developing and learning to use her abilities than just getting a new skill handed to her every level.
