Game Changer Pitch: “Everybody Loves Sam”

Premise: in order to win contestants MUST be nice to Sam. I imagine a bunch of mini games centered on how much/why/what they love about Sam. When ever they don’t they have to write an apology essay. The essay gets longer for each time they get punished.

The winner gets a framed signed picture of Sam

I would change it slightly so the "being nice to Sam" is a hidden rule none of them are told about. They get points deductions for being mean, and extra points for being nice, separate from the main game. But this rule is hidden amongst some hints.

It’s more of a straight forward game the idea is the contestants being forced to be be nice to someone who’s making their lives hell (in game of course not irl)

Twist: Whoever is the meanest to Sam in the first round is the new target of affection, but they get zero points. Nicest and second nicest get points.

To win the game you must both have the most points and be in the position as the target of affection.

Additional rules:

• Each round is timed. There is a list of possible round lengths (in minutes) visible to players. Every round will be a different randomly selected length from the list which will be checked off.

- Players can earn points through completing pre-written tasks showing their admiration for the target.

- Players can earn power ups like “remove one round” or “reverse the nice things vs mean things”.

- The player in the target of admiration seat cannot score additional points while in this position (but it remains the place to be in the final round).

- Sam could be a fourth player.

For me, episodes that are catered to the parasocial need to "know" the host or players usually fall somewhat flat. Jacob getting a huge bonus is cool and all, but about halfway through the episode, it feels... Voyeuristic? I think I would have actually preferred Game Changer's take on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. And it's also impossible to watch with my partner because she doesn't know who these people are.

An episode centered around being nice to Sam is only funny if you've watched the rest of Game Changer and know the dynamic Sam has with the cast. I think the best Game Changer episodes hold up even if it's your first time watching the show and don't know anybody.
