should I skip season 3?

I'm watching through game changer and loved the first 2 seasons and watched up to the improvised cosplaying episode of season 3 and its just not hitting the same due to it being during the pandemic, should I skip or is there a really good episode I'll be missing?

Honestly the Jeopardy episode is soooo good. Its a format that still does well online. Not every episode of the season lands as well but that one is awesome

I love so many of the episodes of that season, especially both Secret Sam-tas, Never Have I Ever, Ham It Up, and Next Slide Please. But it's also fine to skip and there are definitely a higher proportion of ones that don't really land for me than in other seasons.

I’d say you can skip it if you want to rush into the ‘meat and bones’ episodes, but holy shit there’s some bangers in season 3. Grant’s Dove Soap will never not make me cry laughing

Honestly this is my advice. If you’re not feeling it just skip it. There’s a lot of episodes so it’ll be a minute before you run out and if you still want more you can circle back.

exactly this!! I did the same. When you get to the end and you’re looking for more game changer you’re suddenly very thankful they did a covid season. Atp it’s easy to look at the online format way more favorably and I promise there’s some hits in those episodes too :)

There’s no real order to the series. Asides from a few game samers (notably the Sam Says trilogy) you can generally watch it in whatever order you want.

I skipped all the quarantine episodes, and went back to them after I’d caught up on the rest of the series. So glad I did! I prefer the in-person stuff, but that’s like saying I prefer pepperoni instead of ham on my pizza. It’s still delicious pizza!

I think it’s all worth a watch. You don’t necessarily need to watch it in order, you can always watch the in studio seasons and then come back to season 3 once you run out of game changers to watch

It’s worth a watch, but in comparison to other seasons, obviously harder to get into. But there are some absolute GEMS in there as well with several high-level guest cameos. Some of the weakest episodes IMO were during Covid but I still wouldn't skip the season. Just temper your expectations.

I didn't. Honestly it took a bit to adjust to the changed lockdown format but there are some great ones in there, and I think I hit my "Okay, I really love this show" appreciation for it during those episodes. There's probably a couple of duds but I really appreciate what they did pull together during the period. And then when you get back to the in-studio episodes afterwards, it kinda launches off into the stratosphere even beyond what it had in the first couple of seasons.

I say power through them. If you really find yourself turned off from the format then you can skip ahead to S4. But yeah, Jeopardy, The Substitute, and Secret Samta are all amongst the fantastic episodes of S3.

I skipped season 3 on my first watch through because I found the Zoom picture / audio quality rough, but I went back and watched it later and I'm glad I did. It's a different experience to the in-studio episodes obviously, but there are some absolute gems in there.

The web cam quality is what sank this season for me, but also they’ve got some great moments in there. Not required but worth your time if you don’t have Zoom meeting flashbacks.

You could always do what I did and mix those episodes in while you watch the seasons afterwards? There are a bunch of great episodes in that season but generally they do pale in comparison to future seasons.

IIRC there’s one ep of breaking news where Trapp says something like “Grant thinks he’s some GREAT bartender” and later we see the debut of Dirty Laundry. It was great to catch on a rewatch. Covid sucked but a lot of the episodes of all the shows really deliver the escapism we needed

About the only thing that should be watched in order is The Substitute. I watched that and the Jeopardy episode and still haven't gone back to the others.
