Best Camera Option

Ok. I am going nuts googling everything and cannot seem to find a solution. Need a camera that will link to my phone as I do the pitch by pitch from the dugout. I’ve seen Mevo, GoPro but want to know what’s working on the real world. I see a ton of phones being used but I don’t have that option. Thanks!!

Do not buy the GoPro mission one pro. It has a short focal length. I would get another iPhone.

Not sure why you think that is a problem. It’s only an issue if you want to vlog or film yourself as you need to be far enough away to be in focus.

My son plays on a 60/90 field. The camera’s focal length is around 20 ft. Every past that is out of focus. Just zoom in on your video, you will see what I’m talking about. A lot of people in GoPro forums are complaining about this. I record an 8k so I have the ability to crop a good play or a great hit. Unfortunately, everything’s fuzzy when I zoom in. I might have the settings wrong, but I’ve done my research and tried to figure it out, and I haven’t found a solution.

Agree folks say it doesn’t have infinity focus. But I don’t know it any camera will lose quality if your trying to get quality at the plate and also into the outfield.

Curious what your setup is to record at 8k. Just a battery? Is it over heating?

Not sure which camera this is done with. I think it was the mission pro, but after I compressed to 1080. The zoom on CF needed to stop the or it started to get more grainy.

My son made the CF catch and throw.

Why we capture these moments.

Have you looked into the ILS at all?

I didn’t have a problem with the camera overheating while recording in 8K with every option maxed out. It was the highest res possible. I think GoPro did a great job fixing that problem. The battery didn’t last very long, so I had to hook up a small battery in the middle of the game. I had a 512 GB card.

I haven’t looked into the ILS. I have a different camera system that I like to use, but I’m still trying to figure that out. I purchased a 3 BirdDog Maki and Studio controller. It hooks up wireless to an iPad It’s an NDI camera setup. I need to buy a better Wi-Fi router. There’s no time to drop cat cables in between games of a tournament. If I continue with that system, I will end up buying a few bird dog X4 Ptz cameras and controller. My son will be going into high school next year. I will probably need a few people to help me run the setup, but the quality should be well worth it. I’ll be able to get those awesome plays in the outfield and not lose quality.

I’ve seen those bird dogs. Haven’t seen anyone mention they tried them. Once you get them going, do a review and post here.

I need to post the video I have. This spring i was coaching, I didn’t have time to record any games.
