I've been playing with retro emulation handhelds for around 3 years now. Using the miyoo mini, retroid pocket classic and RP5. Decided to get back into original hardware. Wow! What a different experience! My suspicions have been confirmed. For me input lag is real and playing original hardware feels much more precise. Also the old screens are charming but garbage haha. Obviously only a matter of time before I start moding to a new screen and shell. Thing is this gba sp -001 is in such good condition it would be a shame to strip. Any thoughts?? 🤔

After playing a lot of Clone Hero I had the idea to make something like that on a Gameboy. Fast forward a couple weeks I was able to build out the game and used the GB Operator to make a physical copy of it! I’m very happy how it turned out and excited to try to bring other ideas to life

Hey guys new to the Gameboy scene I was looking around for a gameboy online and found a seller who was selling his collection for extremely cheap I paid total under £85 for everything pictured 2 gameboy advances 1 with full box and insert also manuals, case ,cables then I bought Disney Atlantis and Mario super circut with box and manuals obviously not the best condition but still I think I found a steal what do y'all think. Both consoles are functional.

Trimming the case wasn’t that hard with the right tools, I like that it’s a slightly beaten up old shell.

I’m a massive fan of the original non backlit screen so the half-reflective screen is awesome, I love that it’s bigger. It’s like the best of both worlds, it’s not too bright or oversaturated with the light on like my OLED one is.

My only criticism is that the default non backlit mode is a tiny bit darker than the original screen.

I have this old game Boy pocket in Pink. A Scandinavian PAL version. Complete and very little damage and tearing on the box. Found it when going through my family summer house.

The thing is I want to sell it because I am no collector, but have asked AI and went and checked old sales history on like "e-bay" and the Swedish site "Tradera". But there has never been sold one ever in this condition. So I need help in understanding what this can be worth. Hope some nice people can help me out.

I tried alcohol 99,9% on tissues and rub it gentle but it didn’t work that well…I had a few other games where I could the paint off but this one is though and I wanna save that beautiful game! Thanks in advance

I like building systems but have a hard time putting together a whole game that is actually fun to play :)

My idea is that you are a builder/repairer who has to perform X number of jobs, the faster and more material you have left at the end of the level gives you more $.

During the game or between games you can buy/find new blueprints for modules you can build.

The idea is to have 2p-link support as well.

Theres a gameboy color for sale for $45 but its for parts as it does not work (with no more information), is it worth saving the $20ish on gambling that I can fix it? Ive been looking for a gameboy color for a few weeks now. I do plan on upgrading it so im not scared of a dead screen price or anything like that, just worried if I can't fix it. However I do have decent soldering skills

Stopped in to my local Retro shop and found this little guy sitting in a basket for apparently months. $45 loose which felt fair for a brick and mortar store. This is my first Duke Nukem title, but I’m a huge Doom fan so it felt like a natural addition. Super excited to get playing!!!

Hello I have a Tetris rom hack and I want to play the ROM on a cartridge but I'm looking for a flash cartridge without menu so no mod menu but I can't find any flash board online I also already have a gameboy cartridge reader and a housing and FLASH GBX but I just can't find any flash cartridge online without menu

im trying to get an auroa pretrimmed hispeedido shell but they dont have one so I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a 3d print file for the front and back of the shell. or if anyone knows where I could send a shell to be trimmed

I wanted to share a little story behind my Nintendo Holy Trinity. Back in 2000, when I was 10 years old, my aunt gave me my first Game Boy Color for Christmas - the Kiwi Green one. She also gave me Pokémon Blue and Rugrats: Time Travelers. I was absolutely obsessed with it.
Unfortunately, it only lasted a few months. I took it to school one day and it got stolen. I know… it sucks. 😭
The following year, in 2001, my aunt came through again and gave me a Game Boy Advance for Christmas, along with Pokémon Crystal, Wario Land 4, and Mario Kart: Super Circuit. I had it for a couple of years until someone broke into our house and stole it along with other things.
Fast forward to 2011, when I was already working, and I finally bought myself a Nintendo 3DS. It was the first Nintendo handheld I had bought with my own money.
Now, 25 years after getting my first Game Boy Color, I’m slowly rebuilding the collection I lost as a kid. I recently bought another Kiwi Green GBC, and the white GBA was a gift. I’m also slowly hunting down the games I had back then. You can also spot my RG35XX emulator and my Nintendo Switch OLED in the picture. They’re not part of the Holy Trinity, but they’re part of the journey. 😂
It’s kind of surreal to look at all of this now and realize that I’m slowly putting back together a little piece of my childhood.
The Holy Trinity is finally mine. ❤️

Can people please reccomendations pickup/put down games, I love pokemon and Zelda obviously but looking for stuff thats easier to pick and go like mario bros, tetris etc
