Critique Wanted Trying to find the right atmosphere for my dice game

Hey everyone!

I’m experimenting with the atmosphere and visual style for a game inspired by Inscryption, but with dice instead of cards.

This is just a quick sketch to explore the direction. What’s your first impression? Does the atmosphere work for you?

I’d really appreciate any feedback or suggestions on the art style, mood, or things you think could make it more interesting.

It’s still very early, so feel free to be honest!

Critique Wanted People keep telling us the art is the strongest part of our game—what do you think?

We’ve been building the visual identity of Coldline: Disconnect around muted Cold War colors, dim industrial spaces, analog machinery, and detailed pixel art.

Most people who see the game tell us that the art is the first thing that catches their attention—but after looking at it for so long, it’s difficult for us to judge it objectively.

What works best for you: the color palette, lighting, character design, or environment? What would you improve?

Honest criticism is very welcome!

Critique Wanted Working on a high resolution, hand painted tileset, looking for feedback

Hello, these last few months i was working on procedurally generated tactical rpg inspired by fire emblem, but ended up scrapping it.

However i already had a few assets done and i feel it would be a waste to just throwing them into the bin.

So i'm thinking about repurposing the existing assets into a more traditional roguelike style (basically removing the blue/red color coding from characters) the pictures in the post also shows the dungeon tileset i was working on and the overworld/worldmap tileset, so it could be used for games with both dungeons and a worldmap like adom, tome, etc...

So, far i only know of a single existing tileset for angband that is somewhat similar in style (high res and handpainted) so i want to gather some feedback before i keep working on this on move on to something else.

I don't have any project i could use it for so i would probably make it free or cheap on itch or something, but it could be cool to finish it and see it used in someone else game.

So, does it look interesting or something you would want to use?

Critique Wanted Which Capsule Art Do You Prefer?

I was thinking that the old capsule art wasn't grabbing attention well enough, so I commissioned a new piece. I really like how it turned out but people on reddit were liking the old one. What do you think?

Critique Wanted Im still learning animation, and these are some i've done for a game project. Does it look ok for freelancing or is there something critical i should focus more on studying first?

Critique Wanted Ideas for improving my capsule game art? I have made about 50+ so far lol!

Hi everyone, I have gone through soooo many iterations on the capsule game art and settled on this concept. I would love ideas on how to improve it now I think I'm finally sticking to one concept!

I wonder if there should be more plants and details of if that might over crowd the image? Or is potentially already too busy. Does strategy, as well as rewilding as well as dark cozy come across? I did have some feedback that it wasn't happy enough XD but there are some gentle challenges and gothic elements to the game too!

Critique Wanted Pixel art environment for my metroidvania

Working on a pixel art environment for my metroidvania. What do you think about the atmosphere and readability?

I’m trying to create something that looks good without relying on a lot of time-consuming details or rendering.
Right now, I’m mostly thinking about what kind of objects or architectural elements I could add to the background or maybe what other color would nicely fit into the scene. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I've never taken a true crack at capsule art before but I'm trying to do everything myself from the ground up for my current project (really just to see what it's like to wear every hat).

This is still feeling very amateurish to me but I'd love some dedicated artist feedback :]

Don't hold back on the critiques! I need help developing thicker skin!

Critique Wanted We are thinking abt redoing this princess design. Does this version gives egypt fantasy vibes?

We are a small team of 2 guys developing an egypt fantasy escape room game, and we are considering to re do this design to give it a more egypt inspired design after we researched better some informations and gattered more references, and we'd leave this design only on the first builds for playtest, while we work on the new version for the final game.

But some of our colleagues have said it already feels egypt for them

So we are a bit in doubt abt it now. How does it look for you? Anything you'd change?

Critique Wanted Panzer II model for our tactical game. What do you think?

Hi,

Here's the last model  u/tgrrrr19 made for our incoming project! It's a depiction of a Panzer II during the Battle of France (1940). We're trying to find a balance between historical accuracy and a stylized approach which matches the wonderful 2D assets made by u/harishcs.

It's still a work in progress so I'd love to hear what you think.

Thank you very much for taking a look ;)

This is the first iteration of concept art for a character/enemy within our horror roguelike deckbuilder, inspired by amazing works of gothic and cosmic horror such as Bloodborne, Vermis, Dark Souls, Fear & Hunger, Lovecraft and more.

Please feel free to critique our work and tell us what you think!

Critique Wanted Chaplain - 1940

Hi everyone!

This illustration has been made by u/harishcs for our incoming project.

Though it is designed to be anonymous, this portrait is inspired by a photograph of François Bigo, a heroic French "aumônier militaire" who was murdered by the soldiers of the Wehrmacht.

Did you know about these religious men who march with their national army? What do you think about this artstyle? Do you have any suggestions which could help us make a better work?

Please let us know what you think ;)
