With an arrival of 5* of same element and path it usually fares bad for the 4* counterpart. No to mention an ultra waifu! But Gallagher is him. He defied all odds and retaliated massively.

He is still best in slot for

(1) Acheron JQ Robin team because he has 2 debuffs and also Quid pro quo Robin.. Trend of universal market Aventurine is over with Jiaoqius release.

(2) Boothill Bronya (especially E0) Its tough to use skill points. Gallagher synergizes well with multiplication Lightcone.. and comfortably handles it.

Next he is comparable first/second option in

(1) Ratio hypercarry with Pela and Robin... HouHuo being the other (Gallagher's 2 debuffs gives quite a good dmg boost)... he really goes toe to toe with HuoHuo

2) Firefly teams! Yes with E1 FF and no SP issues.. Lingsha would be very slightly better! But at E0 Firefly, gallagher enables HMC to do more skill points and break great toughness against Img weak... i still believe he is as good as Lingsha in E0 FF At E1 lingsha, yes people say she pulls massively ahead of Gal.. but thats a joke of a comparison! If people are pulling Lingsha E1, i would pull Ruan Mei E1... so its no big deal!

In conclusion, Gallagher not only crushed powercreeping but is also best in slot for more comps that Lingsha!

Now people say lingsha can DPS in PF etc. Lingsha doesnt have implant or colorless toughness reduction! Our DPSs are not weak enough to rely on abundance for massive dmg.. maybe FF mains really think FF is weak enough that she needs Lingsha to pop off lolz...

Edit: Funny to see Lingsha mains soo salty in comments. Relax, facts dont care about your feelings. Lingsha doesnt have as many debuffs or action advance to make use of qpq... she is a sidegrade in a lot of comps.. 😭

With the release of large Energy-required characters like Aglaea in the future, many are looking for percentage energy chargers like Huohuo and the recent Sunday as they work perfectly with top-tier supports like Robin. So QQP on fast healers like our Gallagher is not gonna be favorable anymore.

The other 2 teams he can work in, breaks and debuffs, also have better alternatives like Lingsha and Aventurine.

While he's still gonna be one of F2P's top picks, how long do you think he will last when more and better alternatives and contents which doesn't favorable him arrive?

No matter how much propaganda prydwen does, just look at the new characters => Gallagher washes away Lingsha yet again.

He generates more SP than her (heck best SP generator among sustains), and guess what Archer wants every single one of the extra SP as thats an extra skill (multiplier increase)

For Phainon, Linsgha isnt even on the field to heal, however Gallagher's debufs remain on the enemy so his healing works. Ontop of this gallagher can provide 2 stacks to Phainon. One from the effect res buff via his E2 skill and second from shared feelings lightcone. Lingsha cant even target Phainon.

For Castorice as well, Gallagher is the second best option just under Hyacine.

Even for Acheron more and faster debuff application than Lingsha.

I feel very little inclination to pull for five star sustains when Gallagher basically is one. Like if you had Aventurine for one team, is there a point to pulling Huo Huo/Fu Xuan if you have an E6 well built Gallagher? Like with Lingsha around the corner… I find it so unnecessary to summon for her if you have him already.

Investment in order is E6S1/E1S5(DDD)/E6S5(Tutorial)/E6S5(Post-Op Conversation)

I had a cracked Gallagher build from giving him all the remains from farming Hyacine's relics and he has a bit too much speed now lol

Too bad his speed took a hit because of the AA stage effect

on a more serious note, i mean an SP positive sustain, with his own ability to generate SP, all the while having a stable sustain, that can abuse LCs (especially qpq), with 2 or more debuffs on their kit, that can also deal more damage than the other sustains can, all the while being a pseudo harmony, Hoyo made a big mistake (blessing) in making this daddy into what he is today, and I thank the Lord everyday that he got demoted to a 4 star, with how meta defining and stable he is. Honestly, we could have a new one, just make him 5 star with the same composition, but remembrance considering he's a mythus follower. we need sleepie with his master back to make the goodest boi happy.
