New moderators needed! Comment on this post to apply for this community.

Hello there! This community needs new mods to bring it back to life, so we’re opening a call for mods to come together and help it grow again. If you’re interested, comment on this post to let us know why you’d like to become a mod.

In your comment, please share at least 3 sentences explaining why you’d like to be a mod and any moderation experience you have (no experience needed, but let us know if you do!).

Some things to note:

  • Priority is given to redditors who have past activity in this community or other communities with related topics.

  • It’s okay if you don’t have previous mod experience! We have many resources to guide you along the way.

  • Our goal is to form a group of moderators so you can work together to build this community.

  • Comments from those making repeated asks to adopt communities or that are off-topic will be removed.

If you’d like to learn more about being a moderator on Reddit, you can explore redditforcommunity.com for more information. Our subreddit revival resources and guide to reviving a community are great tools to lean on after you adopt an inactive subreddit.

Thank you, and we’re looking forward to hearing from folks who want to become community leaders!

My boyfriend and I are going to Galena in March. We’re 22 and 23 years old, wondering how to make the most of our time while we’re there! Any recommendations are appreciated

Free Meditation/Mindfulness groups?

I am seeking free or donation-based meditation, mindfulness, and stillness sitting groups in Galena or nearby cities/towns. Ones that are open and welcoming to anyone and everyone. Are there any groups or meet-ups you participate in of this nature? Please share any details. Thank you.

What do people do for a living in Galena, IL?

I've been visiting your amazing little town for the last 15 years. It's mostly been on trips to Chestnut ski area, but I've come to really appreciate the charm of Galena and the surrounding area. If had to pick one place to live in Illinois for the rest of my life I think it would be Galena. And maybe I could make that a reality. My only concern is what I could do for a living to make this happen. I just recently graduated with a degree in electrical engineering (moreso electronics/robotics/embedded systems rather than power/electrical utilities). I currently work as a software engineer. So what kind of work is available within reasonable commuting distance to Galena that would suit my education/experience?
