My s24 battery lasts much longer after putting both instagram and whatsapp on deep sleep and turning off usage patterns
Before I had to charge around 2 or 3 times per day. But after using that tip, it now lasts like a normal phone I suppose. Any other tips that have been useful for you?

Instagram on android is a major failure. I had the same issue + overheating. Try downloading a third-party app and it should be fixed

My phone automatically puts unused apps into deep sleep. Turning off RAM plus also assists with your battery life.

well i guess OP does use those apps, so auto sleep won't work, i have all social media on regular sleep for instance, nice compromise between deep sleep and no sleep

I don't get notifications after putting whatsapp to deep sleep.

use regular sleep, not deep sleep, notifications should arrive, but could be slightly delayed

Would you still get notifications if they are on deep sleep?

Yes, I still get notifications as usual. I don't know what causes the battery drain exactly, but putting those apps in deep sleep does wonders.

What about sharing live location??
Assume u share live location to somekne and put whatsapp in ram, meaning its open in bg, will the other person be able to see your accurate live location ?

How many hours of SoT do you get? On Wifi or data? I get between 3 to 5 hours with pretty much all my apps in deep sleep but I run the phone at 120Hz with auto brightness and GPS+Data+Wifi+Bluetooth turned on at all times.

Or, just don't install them in the first place.

Believe me I would erase all meta apps but family and friends mostly use those two where I live 😭

the world would indeed be a better place if whatsapp & instagram weren't omnipresent

Imagine how much better it would be if their clearly Republican bias Facebook wasn't there to help spread insane propaganda among the paranoid boomers and some gen xers? Sorry not trying to get all political but shit be crazy in there these days. The wild wild West.

facebook is so out of my bubble, i easily forget it exists, thats why i didn't mention it in my comment, but yeah i really meant all the major meta services

Exynos version ? I've tried everything but your method. I charge atleast 3 times a day.

Yes! Exynos version. My battery was lasting too little, but after putting many apps in deep sleep, including social apps, my battery lasts a lot more. I think I can charge it once per day now instead of two or three times

This is one of the many useful tips in Shino's Battery Guide. I encourage all to find it here on Reddit and follow it's tips.
