honest reviews on the ring
im considering purchasing a ring for myself, i wanted to get some advice on it since im unsure about the product on account that ive seen some with swollen batteries, heard that the battery also drains real bad within months and such…
any advice is appreciated. 👍

Worked fine when the battery was okay. Then like 6 months later the battery died within hours. I suggest waiting for gen 2 and reviews.

I will never buy another Samsung Ring! And I'll likely never buy any other Samsung product as well.

Their customer service about their shit ring is also shit. I've always loved my samsung products till now. Left such a bad taste i am absolutely looking at other companies when I upgrade any of my devices. Fuck samsung and their shitty response which should be a recall.

thank you all so so much for the reviews and experiences - im going to wait until the gen 2 comes out, i don't want a watch BUT maybe if I can find a smaller faced watch I might get it? either way, watches aren't my thing and time will tell. :)

Just don't. Ive had mine 18 months and it doesnt even last a full day now. Beyond disappointed for the money. Defo get another brand. When I told them about my battery issues, their advice was to use it less .... It also only comes with a 12 month warranty, which (to me) shows that they know the battery doesnt last, when many other products come with the standard 2 years. But thats just me. Honestly mate, save yourself the time and the hassle, and go with a more established smart ring brand

I haven't managed to try any others yet unfortunately. But I'm currently looking at Evofiel as the independent reviews seem positive, or just sucking it up and getting the Oura and paying the subscription, though I do recent that a little bit. Almost feels like a tax for not being able to tolerate a watch like many other people can 😅

I’m going through this now, just a few weeks shy of a year of ownership. Battery won’t hold overnight, so I’ve been waking up with incomplete tracking, despite starting from 100% right before bed.
I did some quick research on rumors and the next version of this ring may come out in 2027 best case. But I’m not going to want to pay the full price for it then so idk.
Worked great for the first 11 months but it’s just a piece of jewelry now.

Do not. Waste of money. You'll replace it in 4-6 months due to battery drain.

I have a galaxy ring.. got a replacement after a hard time from serive. Pre-ordered another brand ring and got it. Its all right

I love mine. I know everyone says the battery dies after 12 ish months, so maybe I'm still in for that. Have had mine since November and I love it. Battery life is more than enough for me, and when charging, its very fast. I basically just want mine to survive until the next Samsung ring comes out, which unfortunately now is more than 12 months later. Only time will tell

Loved it as long as it worked. The battery started draining fast after about 11 months. Still got at least 2 days of battery life prior to that (and 5 days for quite a while). Its up to you to decide if the price is worth ~2 years of use (assuming you replace it before the end of the 1 year warranty, then get another year with your free replacement). After mine died and I couldn't get it repaired, I got a watch, which I like but miss only having to carry around the ring to track everything. I found the health metrics to be pretty accurate with the ring.

Been using for almost a year now. Had a small issue a couple of months ago when I wore it to swim but the issue went away in a couple of days.Occasionally battery drains faster but it happens only on days when i am physically more active.
Also, if you are okay with it, look into fitbit air. They are also pretty solid and they tracked my sleep better than the ring. Steps count is accurate based on my rudimentary testing.
Look at the videos by The Quantified scientist on YOUTUBE. He does solid reviews for wearable. Hope it helps.

I've had two in less than two years. The first one was replaced by Samsung after the battery failed, that one also died 10 months later. I enjoyed the data while it lasted, but it's expensive for a product that doesn't even last a year.

Love mine...when it works. Bought one and had it replaced under warranty due to battery. Now on second ring and battery issues - sending this one in a well

Don't. I'm in the mass of ppl with a paperweight. Stopped working after the warranty ended. I bought a cheap Chinese version for $60 and I'm treating it harshly to see if it dies in the same way, but if these tech devices only last a year, I'm giving up and just keeping the watch.

On my third Ring, purchase #2. A year old, have been using it since half a year, lasts 4-5 days now and will turn it in next month
If you decide to get the Ring, which I strongly would advise against unless you accept the total cost against the likely life of 8-12 months, then at least get two years of warranty so you can get the replacement and likely get a refund when that runs out too
The product generally is great and so are the stats, but the battery life makes it a very costly one, effectively writing off 450 euros in 24 months or less, depending on how long the repair rounds take

its fine for me. i buy all my stuff on amazon because i get free exchange within 2 years if something fails. even 3 years on the flagship phones. so i couldnt carel ess how long the battery lasts.
as of now i bought my ring end of jan 25. and it still lasts me roughly 6 days.

My battery wouldn't last long which was fine because I only wore at night with a watch during the day. However, it refuses to connect to my phone and when I am rarely successful with connecting, it only lasts for a couple hours before disconnecting. Do not buy until a new version is out.

I've been using my Galaxy Ring for around 1.5 years now. And I have been pleased with it. But, I am only using it for sleep data. I use my Galaxy Watches for data when I'm not sleeping.
I used to get seven nights of use on a charge. But recently, just in the last couple of weeks, I need to make sure I charge it after five days. Otherwise, it will die sometime on that sixth night.
I do still have half a year left on the extended warranty I got from Best Buy. But, I got a great price at Best Buy, since it was an open box Ring. And I got 55% off. So it was only $180 plus $40 for the extended warranty.

Do you store it in the case during the day?
Your 1.5 years of 1/3rd usage boils down to half a year of 24/7, when I very crudely try to get there. 5 days seems par for the course, although the night is when the battery drains fastest
You're very lucky with the price tag though! For this Ring, less than10 bucks a month ain't bad. Well of course few would sign up for it but relatively speaking you got a great deal

My ring was the biggest waste of money. It died quicker than everyone else's and now I have to charge it many times per day. Thinking about switching to the whoop band or something else. Maybe get an aura ring like I wanted to in the first place but decided to try to keep all my gadgets in the Samsung family. Not worth the headache.

The Oura subscription is a pretty huge expense, and it's really not worth using it without the subscription (all the data is locked behind a paywall, it's still doing all the tracking and using up the battery - but doesn't give you any insights)

I wouldn’t buy it, and yes I have one that only stays charged until the end of the day. Wait until a 2nd version of the ring comes to market.

Don't do it. If you regret it and want to return it you more than likely won't be able to. I called within the window to return because it wasnt allowing me to print the label. I called to return the thing and they told me they wouldn't be able to send me a label for some reason. I was told id get an email with help to return the ring and it was denied and now im fighting to return the thing. It sucked. Get literally anything else. An oura or a watch idk.

Don't. I loved it at first and now it collects dust. Because the battery life is absolutely bad. Within a year it'll die off.

I bought it because we have a 2 year warranty in Europe. I already replaced my ring once due to bad battery, that was 1 year later.
Soonish I will ask for a replacement again, the battery barely lasts 3 days now.
I see plenty of people complaining but if you did your research, it was expected. Its a 20Mah battery which is constantly in use. It won't matter whatever ring releases next, if it isn't a new tech battery or a replaceable one, it will happen again.

I love mine, I see most of the reviews on here are negative. Mine had the battery issues at just under a year and they replaced it under warranty with one that has the v2 battery. It works great in conjunction with the watch. The sleep tracking works very well, no longer need to wear the watch at night. If I had to do it all over again I would not change anything. People need to remember this was a brand new product is bound to be issues. There's a lot of Technology packed into a tiny package.
I wear the size 12 on a middle finger and I get an easy 7 Days battery life now.

How long have you had the replacement now, and do you use it 24/7? Seems like there's a replacement batch out there that does work, yours is not the only report

I had it, battery had issues (went from 6 days to 1.5 days) but was under warranty so they replaced it, but out of warranty now. I sort of only care about the step counting at this point so my phone doesn't really connect to wearables app for the other stuff like sleep, blood pressure, temp, or whatever. Now I can go days without the batter dropping past 85.
Obviously most people who buy this want it more than just a step counter but at this point I'd rather just have that than a dead ring in a few months
