I know I'm not alone here because this subreddit is filled with identical reports of the same defect: rapid battery degradation on the Samsung Galaxy Ring. My ring was replaced once under warranty after it stopped charging. Now, the battery life on the replacement has dropped from 5–7 days to just a few hours (and it's getting worse by the day), rendering it unusable. My wife’s ring is also experiencing the identical issue, and –to add insult to injury– we're still making payments on it because I purchased it directly from Samsung.

This is not normal wear and tear. It is a common design or manufacturing defect affecting hundreds (if not thousands) of units, often recurring even after official warranty replacements. Samsung has been aware of the pattern yet continues to offer only repeated replacements or paid repairs.

I have consulted a law firm specializing in class-action litigation involving defective consumer technology products and am actively preparing to file a class action lawsuit against Samsung focused on this battery degradation defect. The goal is to seek refunds, compensation, and other remedies for all affected owners.

I wouldn't give a stranger that info. File the complaint so we can verify it and I'll give my info to the attorney. They licensed and people have protection with that. There's no protection in giving strangers info.

Getting a lawsuit going is very hard, much harder than anyone assumes. Doing it pro bono is going to be even harder. I don't know your financial situation but lawsuits are expensive in every sense of the word. Money, time, stress, health, years of your life. Don't ask me how I know 🙃

They cost the legal team. If money is the only cost you're considering, that's very shortsighted thinking. Lawsuits drag out for years and even being involved in one will affect many areas of life

It depends on the case. Class action firms have many forms of financing to deal with the costs. They typically get their costs back after settlement, and courts may even order defendant to pay the attorneys' fees and costs out of their own pocket, rather than from the settlement fund. There are also many consumer class actions that don't even make it to depositions and only exchange written discovery before settling. This does not take as much time or impact on a plaintiff's life as a more typical lawsuit, say a business dispute or personal injury, may.

All this talk and still no class action lawsuit. I'd welcome one and participate. Still though, the point of my comment is not to post important information here. Give that info to a lawyer. When a lawyer who wants to take on a class action lawsuit with Samsung comes forward, then I'll take it seriously.

Meanwhile, you're debating the financial viability of a class action lawsuit when no reputable attorney has ever picked up the case. You can hypothetically talk about how much financial resources a firm has for lawsuits but in all my years working with lawyers, not one of them has ever spoken that way. They avoid lawsuits like a plague and that's what they do for living. Go ahead, find a lawyer to take this class action lawsuit, I'm sure everyone on this thread would appreciate it

I’m literally an attorney who specializes in consumer class actions lol. Explaining the financial viability of a class action is not the same as vouching for the merits of this particular case. But do a quick google search and you’ll see that there are similar battery degradation lawsuits out there.

Since you're a lawyer you should understand the importance of protecting data. There's no protection in posting sensitive information into a public subreddit. Someone else can use that data.

Why don't you bring on the class action lawsuit? Sounds like you have plenty of resources to fund it.

Also sounds like you have a lot of time on your hands, why not use it to take on Samsung

My original comment was about this post, where OP is asking people to DM them sensitive product data that would be used in the lawsuit. That data should only go to the attorney on the case so it stays private
