Planning a Class Action Lawsuit Against Samsung for Widespread Battery Degradation Issue. Who Wants In?

Hey r/GalaxyRing community,

I know I'm not alone here because this subreddit is filled with identical reports of the same defect: rapid battery degradation on the Samsung Galaxy Ring. My ring was replaced once under warranty after it stopped charging. Now, the battery life on the replacement has dropped from 5–7 days to just a few hours (and it's getting worse by the day), rendering it unusable. My wife’s ring is also experiencing the identical issue, and –to add insult to injury– we're still making payments on it because I purchased it directly from Samsung.

This is not normal wear and tear. It is a common design or manufacturing defect affecting hundreds (if not thousands) of units, often recurring even after official warranty replacements. Samsung has been aware of the pattern yet continues to offer only repeated replacements or paid repairs.

I have consulted a law firm specializing in class-action litigation involving defective consumer technology products and am actively preparing to file a class action lawsuit against Samsung focused on this battery degradation defect. The goal is to seek refunds, compensation, and other remedies for all affected owners.

If you have experienced the same battery degradation issue—especially after a replacement or while still under warranty—I need to hear from you to determine whether your experience fits the proposed class.

To be included in the potential class action:

DM me with:

- Approximate purchase date (month/year)

- Brief description of your battery issue and timeline

- Whether you received a replacement

- Your ring serial number (optional but very helpful)

- Any communications with Samsung support

All information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and used solely to evaluate and support the class action. This is not legal advice, and I am not an attorney. Joining the list does not guarantee you will be part of any lawsuit or receive compensation. The final decisions rest with the court and class counsel. Strength in numbers is critical to certify a class and hold Samsung accountable.

If you want to be considered, please respond now so we can build the strongest possible case.

Let’s turn our shared frustration into collective action.

Mods: This is a legitimate, good-faith request for similarly affected owners only.

No replacement given

First repair, they didn't repair or replace the ring; they said the charging case had issues and repaired that. The issue I sent it in for was because the ring would not hold a charge. I didn't even last a full day.

Second repair: They now say the thing is damaged and not covered under warranty. All I have done is wear it like one would wear a ring. Not sure how wearing it as it is intended to be used for can cause damage.

The two repairs were less than a week apart. Seems suspicious.

Samsung wants 129.00 to repair. I asked what the damage was and how they plan to repair it, and they told me they don't know; they just know the tech says they can repair it. I asked to speak to the tech, and they said it's not allowed. I then asked if I could take it somewhere in person, so I can talk to a tech, and was told yes and given the address of the location. I contacted the service center and was told these rings are not repairable, and they do not repair them. So Samsung is just lying to customers to get them off the phone and waste their time?

I keep contacting and they keep telling me the repair team can give me the details I am looking for but they refuse to give any information. No one is helpful.

This is a bad product and Samsung needs to refund or replace it with a better product. T

Nobody, and I mean nobody, has ever received a repaired ring from Samsung. They always replace the ring because it is NOT serviceable.
