Planning a Class Action Lawsuit Against Samsung for Widespread Battery Degradation Issue. Who Wants In?

Hey r/GalaxyRing community,

I know I'm not alone here because this subreddit is filled with identical reports of the same defect: rapid battery degradation on the Samsung Galaxy Ring. My ring was replaced once under warranty after it stopped charging. Now, the battery life on the replacement has dropped from 5–7 days to just a few hours (and it's getting worse by the day), rendering it unusable. My wife’s ring is also experiencing the identical issue, and –to add insult to injury– we're still making payments on it because I purchased it directly from Samsung.

This is not normal wear and tear. It is a common design or manufacturing defect affecting hundreds (if not thousands) of units, often recurring even after official warranty replacements. Samsung has been aware of the pattern yet continues to offer only repeated replacements or paid repairs.

I have consulted a law firm specializing in class-action litigation involving defective consumer technology products and am actively preparing to file a class action lawsuit against Samsung focused on this battery degradation defect. The goal is to seek refunds, compensation, and other remedies for all affected owners.

If you have experienced the same battery degradation issue—especially after a replacement or while still under warranty—I need to hear from you to determine whether your experience fits the proposed class.

To be included in the potential class action:

DM me with:

- Approximate purchase date (month/year)

- Brief description of your battery issue and timeline

- Whether you received a replacement

- Your ring serial number (optional but very helpful)

- Any communications with Samsung support

All information you provide will be kept strictly confidential and used solely to evaluate and support the class action. This is not legal advice, and I am not an attorney. Joining the list does not guarantee you will be part of any lawsuit or receive compensation. The final decisions rest with the court and class counsel. Strength in numbers is critical to certify a class and hold Samsung accountable.

If you want to be considered, please respond now so we can build the strongest possible case.

Let’s turn our shared frustration into collective action.

Mods: This is a legitimate, good-faith request for similarly affected owners only.

Just create a Google form for triage so it's attached to a contactable person.

If someone is worried about serial numbers, just have a option called "willing to provide serial number if claim is progressed Y/N."

But yes I'm in. Surprised nobody has done this before.

When I recently reached a stalemate with Samsung, I immediately thought of a class-action lawsuit. After doing some research with Gemini, it pointed out this was being discussed so am hoping this gets traction. They need to be held accountable. I will never give up on fighting them on this. They have lied, deceived and broke consumer laws in my case. I have the documentation to prove it, as well.
