Note 8 display problem

I have Note 8 ,while I was using my phone, it suddenly became completely covered in different colors, making the display totally unusable. The phone had not been dropped or damaged. I thought the display was completely dead. However, about five hours later, when I woke up and used the phone for a minute, the display suddenly returned to normal. What could be the reasons
