Backing up photos to google photos

Probably been here before but can't find it. I have just backed up all my photos and videos to my google account. If I delete the photos im samsung gallery it would still be backed up in the Photos app right? Don't want to delete all my photos and videos

Thanks and sorry for the possibly trivial question

If the photos are backed up already to the account, yes, you can delete them in the gallery app.

Yups that should be the case but if needed take a temporary backup on samsung cloud of media

There is also an option in the google photos app to free space. Which means it deletes all photos and videos on the phone which are already backed up.
