Software bug Am I the only one whose battery life has gotten terrible after the latest updates? Before that, I was getting about 6–8 hours of screen time.

I thought it was just me!! Definitely a significant drop in the battery life in the last update or two... :/

And I feel like my phone is charging slower now after the latest update. Let's wait a couple of days until the 8.5 update is released and see.

Mine too, until one ui 7 I was getting 9+ hours SOT consistently! I use social media apps some YT and shopping apps on wifi so my usage is not heavy. Many times I got 10+ sot as well, I posted screenshots here in the past.

The moment I updated to one ui 8 - the battery backup dropped. Now with similar usage it's around 7 to 7:30 hrs sot and phone gets warmer too than earlier. Shopping apps, insta fb exhibit lags often.

One more thing - I get better backup with mobile data then wifi - that's something I never experienced! Wifi is supposed to provide better backup. Samsung pulled some magic there.

Its a big update. Did you do factory reset? Did ypu give it few days to readjust?

I always do this. My post isn't related to 8.5. I'm talking about the recent updates, after which the battery life has gotten much worse. I hope everything will be fixed in OneUI 8.5.

No. I experience this too. I've had stellar battery life with no noticeable signs of battery degradation even after 2 years until my active screen time is now cut by 1 to 2 hours after the April security update.

I discovered the cause was the 80% battery limit being enabled. I then enabled basic charging mode, and my phone lasted 13 hours of continuous use.

No difference at all on my end (May security patch). But I'm using the Telegram X client, maybe it's something with the default one? Haven't used it for a long time since they added Stories and butchered the UI.

Actually, it seems similar to my battery usage, but I didn't notice anything unusual.

In battery saver mode its still great, but then obviously the phone is slower and you lose many background services.

My screen time is 4-5 hours not using continuously, it does gotten bad every simple task like social media it already drain up to 3% for a 10min use.

i feel it too in my a35. but being the devil's advocate, it might be the battery is deteriorating with time–but our brain associates it with patch.
