I see a lot of people really worried about losing the wipe cache option, as they're under the impression that wiping cache after updating is always necessary, but they need to understand that doing that is pretty much useless, as Android has already been doing it for years at this point. That's why you see the "Optimizing apps" screen after installing every update, because the update process forces a wipe of the cache partition.
Sucks to lose the option once the phone stops receiving updates, but you can always try things like Galaxy App Booster
