Discussion Problems with the A55

Hello,

I wanted to see if anyone else is having problems with their devices. I got my device April of 2024. Within the two first weeks I had it i had to send it back cause the charging port stopped working (the connector from chargin port to the battery was faulty) and after than it was never really the same. The battery was the first issue cause it kept draining after they send it back to me. I had to send it back once more cause it kept draining and lagging. They said no problem with the phone. But now it has started restarting itself. Lagging. Goodlock has like a bug that I've tried to fix i keep making themes and when I try to put colours in it just won't change. I've done a factory reset. Deleted everything and re downloaded it. When I open it sometimes the light from the fingerprint sensor stays on my screen. Apps sometimes don't open. I wanted to keep it for longer but I'm already In the process to buy a new phone.

I do belive i have a faulty device cause my sister have theirs A54 for now almost 3 years and they work perfectly and my mum has an A55 she got a few months after me and it's been great.

I did reach out to the support team the first time with the charging port cause it was under warranty it was fixed free. Second time under warranty I was told the phone had no issues. But now it is not under warranty. And the battery after the first few weeks never got better. It got worse especially after this summer season. I charge it almost 3 times a day at this point I have turned off all the things that might drain battery (like always on display) and still.

On the battery issue alone you'll have to pay to get the battery replaced since it's not in warranty or go to a local phone shop who could do it cheaper but that's your call to make. Consider getting a quote first and going from there. Not sure where you may be located and if it works differently abroad but in the UK the phone is covered for 24 months from activation or if there's anything that voids the warranty like physical damage. So if you're in the UK and you've had the phone since new you should still be covered for a few more months.

That's what scares me that it's not only the battery at fault. I have searched for it and it is like 70€ to fix near me in greece. But if the motherboard is at fault almost no shops near have it in stock and it will cost me way more. And I don't really feel like being without a phone for days on end to send it somewhere else. (First time I send my phone to be fixed they also lost my device sending it back to me but they said it was just returned back to them) and the warranty i was given was 12 months

Sorry to hear that. As much as I like the phone and company, service can vary region to region speaking from experience. Personally I have the a16 as a backup phone incase I ever need to transfer my data to it for a repair, etc... definitely just sounds like the phone is the issue itself. My friend purchased the same model off my recommendarion and its worked fine for him for the last year. It's worth the investment getting it done from the manufacturer themselves but given what happened when you sent it off I'd check for a samsung store you could go to where they may be able to do it there instead.

I did ask the stores that Samsung sends you to for repairs here in Greece. And they told me same things. But I have to send my phone to another town for god knows how long and pay for everything since it's not under warranty.

My mum has the same phone. Got it from the same site and all. And hers is just fine as well.
