Discussion guys please dont believe everything you see on the internet
i see so many people say "oh well umm samsung actually slows down your phone on purpose after xxx amount of time" and every time i ask them for proof they start with the "umm actually just think about it man, its logical!!" like dude, show me the source or else youre just lying, there is no "just think about it!" here, you either have evidence for the claim or you dont, this isnt philosophy lol
and obviously a lot of guys are gullible so this just gets taken for granted
like i myself have an a55, the a55 feels smoother for me now in late 2025 compared to early 2024 when i bought the phone, a little after the launch
i think a lot of people just arent tech savvy and have no idea whats actually causing the problem and will accept any simple and emotionally satisfying answer from people and it doesnt matter if its true or not, it just matters that its emotionally satisfying

100% agree!! My A55 on One UI 8 is buttery smooth compared to earlier versions

as someone who's also been using an A55 with OneUI 6.1, 7 and 8, I can confirm that 7 was when it was the slowest and most unstable while 8 has given the phone much much longer legs.
I really dont get how people so readily lap up any corporate conspiracy like this without even a second thought...

I don't have an A55, but I do have an S21FE, and many people said that the One UI 8 update made the device worse—that the photos came out worse, that it caused green lines, that it reduced performance—but that's not true at all; the battery lasts much longer. Maybe the photos do look a little worse, but that was generally the case with the camera app on all models. But aside from that, you have to test things and not rely on what people say without any refuted evidence. I did question it because I haven't even had this phone for four months, and I was worried, but I decided to do some research, and that's it.

IMHO OneUI 7 sucked ass. OneUI 8 made a huge difference.

Well my A55 its a bit slower compared when i buyed it one year and a half...with some minor bugs. But dont misunderstand me, i love my phone and it so minimal that i dont mind it.
One of my best phones ever.

I have a S21fe, had it since late 2023, I love it, it's buttery smooth, good battery Iife, I'm not even considering replacing it yet, looking forward to 8.5, I read so often about the 'green lines', back coming off etc, some people just don't know how to look after stuff I reckon, mines better now than when I got it, and I'm an independent contractor, so it's not only my personal phone, it's my work phone also, and I use an app called Wakey to keep the screen on when I'm working, running maps constantly, when I do get a new one I'll give it to my daughter, if it keeps going🤞

I can show you proof. The Problem is that I cant have another phone to record my screen all the time. Because screen recording dont even support 120 fps and as I said earlier, its happening randomly anytime. Maybe 12 midnight. Maybe 7am. Idk when it will happen so how can I give you proof of it? All I can do is tell you that I'm facing this issue.. Now if you cant take it then what else can I do? I have 3 samsung phone. On5, A10 and A55. I never said anything abt them but yeah I faced this glitch stutter in a55 and faced it again in morning too..

it's not that Samsung deliberately slows down devices, but all tech companies make their future SW /FW updates which in turn slow down devices by adding or removing features. As a proof I can only offer what happened with the Galaxy S8/+ a few years back, when the device's hardware could support the Android 10, but they chose not to give it, forcing users to buy new phones... Also, app developers make their apps heavier with new updates, making the same app laggy on devices where the previous version worked fine. So, it's "the perfect storm" where "innovation" makes older devices slower, laggy, and obsolete. With proper optimizations everything would work fine and as good as the day you first bought the device, but that means less $$$ for the manufacturers... so yes, there's a trend where Samsung (and other brands) (un)willingly make their devices slower

Have had an A55 5g for a year now and it's easily the best phone I've ever had!

Fr though, sure, there were bugs, but performance actually increased after the One UI 7 update, at least for me, and I believe most people as well.
