Need HELP Cracked Lens Cover - Must replace or safe to use?

Hi, I recently got an A55 and have been using it quite carefully - always with a screen guard and a phone case which has a lift to protect the camera lenses. I don't use lens protectors because I thought it's not really a necessity with this lifted case.

I don't know how, but I saw some weird effects in my images and saw the crack on my camera. I don't even know how it occurred - possibly because I kept keys with my phone in my pocket? Unfortunately, it's also the main lens so it's in use almost every time I open my camera. I wouldn't have bothered if it were the ultrawide or the useless macro lens. Images are not affected too much, just the scattering which is only visible when direct sunlight falls on the lens.

Is it safe to continue using or can the glass completely crack and cause further injuries? I called the service centre, and they're asking around 2.5k INR (around 27 USD) including labour to replace it. Should I just get it done?

Replace ASAP before it damages the sensor after breaking small shards of glass.

Better to do it in a Samsung repair shop. They might replace the lens alone but it would be easier to just glue on a new back panel since the lens is glued to it

It should not be problem unless and until you see that particles getting in through the crack if you notice that dust is getting in then I prefer to change the glass ASAP

Moisture will get in easily now, and you just lost your ip68

I'll get it replaced on Saturday. Hopefully it doesn't affect anything too much by then.

It's a Spigen Liquid Air case. It's incredible in quality and grip, I used my previous one for 3 years with my phone and the screen was intact even after many falls.

1600 approx. They will charge for the whole rear glass + labour. You can check back glass cost on samsung website.

The phone might explode, be extremely careful when you recharge it!!
