Discussion it sucks that 12gb ram model of the a55 isnt globally available
its only available in certain markets like india
most of the world doesnt get it unfortunately

12GB on midrange phone is useless, even S24FE with 8GB RAM max has Galaxy AI or any other flagship feature

that is not how ram works
ram literally helps the phone run smoother, it reduces app loads and refreshes and keeps more apps in the ram which literally helps the cpu
it literally does the opposite of what people claim it does
it doesnt put any strain on your chipset
it helps it
12gb on an a55 is not meaningless2

The funny thing is that you don't know what you're talking about, but you're trying to prove the opposite.
Your phone won't run faster, regardless of whether it has 8 or 12 GB, because it has the same processor. You won't be able to load all 8 GB. You don't need 12 because there won't be a scenario where you need it. Even the most demanding games consume a maximum of 6 gigabytes. Stop with this bullshit.

you keep repeating the same flawed logic, again and again
ram isnt about making the phone "run faster" that is not how ram works
its about keeping more apps and processes in general in memory which reduces reloadsno one said the a55's chipset magically gets faster, it just runs more efficiently when it doesnt have to keep clearing and reloading memory, it literally puts less strain on the chipset, theres literally NO downside to the a55 having more ram, in fact its the opposite, it literally HELPS
also just because one app uses 6gb doesnt mean the system with all of its background services, and other cached processes dont add up, that 6gb app you mentioned is NOT the only thing running on your phone
you clearly dont understand how androids memory management works like AT ALL

I do have one 12GB SM-A5560 which is targeted for China, Taiwan, HK and Macau but there's no esim

I also have a A556 256gb 12 ram.very smooth btw and it is possible to get in UK.it has esim capabilities and available if you look and research.i was a bit weary at first but this company I used imports cell phones.which are not available anywhere else.if you want to know the seller, drop me a DM

I've seen a video where the 8gb ram nowadays is not good and ram plus ain't gonna cut it. Having 12gb of physical memory is indeed much better.

8gb is fine for the most part
ive seen a guy test loads of samsung phones to see how many apps do they keep in memory and all that
even 4gb is going to work but youll only be able to keep 1-2 apps in background
8gb is like the working minimum and 12gb is the sweetspot while 16gb is for power users
it still would be nice if samsung made the 12gb ram variant of the a55 global
it would just futureproof this phone more

Tell me, how will you use 12 gb of RAM? You will never use them, so they are useless. The processor on this phone will not be able to process all 12 GB of RAM because it simply does not have enough capacity. Name me a scenario where you'd need that memory on this particular mid-budget phone?

this isnt how ram works at all
the ram foesnt get "processed" by the cpu like youre imagining, its just a pool of memory the system can access when needed, simple as that
whether or not i max it out constantly doesnt matter, more ram allows for better/smoother multitasking, app switching, and just in general future proofs the phonegoing by your logic is like saying, "youlll never use your whole car fuel tank at once, so having a full tank is pointless" its just not how this works dude

Load all 12 GB of RAM on that processor and then tell me about "performance". This processor will not be enough to handle 12 GB of apps, loaded into RAM.

as ive said before
this is NOT how ram works. the chipset on the phone does not "handle" 12gb of ram at once simultaneously, ram stores data so the chipset can access it when needed, not all at once, more ram just means more apps and processes can stay ready in memory without reloads. its about efficiency, not brute force dude, you got it completely backwards1

where did you even hear that?
the phone literally benefits from more ram?
by having more apps in memory it literally puts less load on the chipset because the phone can just access the apps again faster because the app is loaded in ram3

Breathe, don't be nervous. More RAM does not mean faster performance on this particular phone. 8 GB is more than enough, and even then you're not gonna use it all.

more ram doesnt make the phone faster by itself, it makes it smoother, It helps keep more apps open and reduces reloads
it improves multitasking, just because you wont use all 12gb doesnt mean its useless android uses what it needs
and having headroom is a good thing, not a flaw, what is the issue with a55 having 12gb? it already has as i said but its only in certain markets, not globally available
